Can anyone lend a hand in telling me what I need for the switched power under the seat?  Something the dealer stocks?

Found the hot pin today under the seat, confirmed it functions off the left side switch on my forks, want to use it for my heated jacket so I can turn it off/on when I need/want to.

What will I need to put a Deutch connector on?

Sean

Sean, it's a four pin deutsch connector under the seat in front of the battery?  If so hit the parts counter and pick up 70264-94A.

That's a Y connector to plug in to the existing connector.  Use it and cut off one outbound plug.  Use that removed plug's power and ground leads for the connector to the plug for the heated gear.  The other plug on the Y connector is then still in place just as the stock connector originally was for saddlebag spoilers or any other use you might find later.

Thanks Don!

Was headed to the dealer tomorrow, this will save them from trying to sell me an 09 while they are looking up and end up giving me the wrong part.

No problem Sean.  That's an old part that's been the same for touring bikes for a long time.  Commonly used so the dealer likely will have it in stock.  If memory serves the last one I bought was about $17.50.

Just a suggestion. Instead of cutting off the spare connector, save it for future use and just buy a "roll your own" connector from the parts kit.

Yes, would need a crimping tool not normally in the tool box for the barrels on those terminals.  Normal common automotive type replacement terminal crimper won't do it.

I use a small pair of needle nose - crimp one side then the other, almost always follow it up with a soldering pencil.
