Bought a Full face flip up this weekend, $69.00 from Barnett in Texas. Tried it out last weekend and thought it worked out okay. Give it a real test riding to San Antonio this four day, with wind shield and IPOD on... Did notice with the full face ear plugs with not necessary. Half helmet it is a must. Before they came out with battle field ear plugs radio was hard to hear.. Want my earing after I retire.. Any whoooooo! nice helmet and nice price.. Fulumor helmet.

I'm running a KBC 3/4 with built in JM speakers & mike on the highway & run a KBC 1/2 helmet with built in JM speakers and mike for around town. None when I'm in a helmetless State. THE MUFFMAN

Do you have two sets of JMs for the helmets or swap the audio hardware?

Hey Jim. I have 2 sets of JMs for the Helmets. I got a good deal purchasing 2 brain buckets when I was in Daytona. I am surprised as how good the 1/2 helmet sounds. THE MUFFMAN

Florida Marine,
I always look forward to your replies, please explain your reply. After I reread my post I understand it needs more clarification. What I meant to say is this.....
1. Rode 1/2 helmet over 20 years
2. Military 17 years post shooting ear plugs they give to soldiers today and hearing is going down hill
3. Experience taught me military and riding equal ear plugs
4. Over 20 yrs riding found out Full face provides different style of riding.
5. Will ride 1/2 helmet and ear plugs around town/ full face and windshield due to sand and rocks blown across road on long rides.
P.S. I like Air Farce I will share that with my bro-in-law. In afghan right now bunking with Army and wants tips all the time.. In the Infantry 17 yrs, regardless MOS, the line is draw right behind the Grunt.

ear rings...  At least they used to when I was on Oki...you commented about wanting earing post retirement.

It was a joke, you spelled it earing...you meant Hearing.

Guess you had to be there, I was freaking guffawing in my head at least...

We have the JM installed in all four, in fact we bought the helmets complete from JM and the price was a little on the high side but the quality is great

Florida Marine,
OOOHHHHHHHH! now I git et! I guess I need to spell check before I post.. Use the box on the bottom.

Did the first long trip 562 miles one way. still have to go back the amount of distance. The bike and helmet did excellent. Had the windshield, ipod, full face, and rain gear on 99% of the time. The full face helmet makes a difference. Definitely will wear the full face on long trips..

P.S. ran spell check

I've always ridden with a full face.  Just picked up an HJC Sy-Max II flip up since the gate guards on post kept asking me to take off my helmet so they could see my face.  It also has the integrated sun visor inside that doesn't get in the way of my glasses.

Also ride with a leather jacket regardless of temperature and the required over the ankle boots, full fingered gloves, and reflective belt so I can get on post and not have the MPs ticket me on my way to work.  Still considering an ICON MIL SPEC mesh vest.  Not exactly the best looking, but I'd rather be seen than run over.

I've got that vest...good to go.  Has a few pockets for the cell phone, and a space for your ID card if you get checked on the way in.  Lejeune only does it time to time.
