2009 SE paint codes/manufacturer
« on: September 08, 2008, 08:30:57 AM »

Does anyone have a source for getting matching paint for the 2009 Screaming Eagle models?  Specifically, I am looking for the paint codes on the Silver/Titanium SERG.  I know PPG supplies the paint on the standard HD bikes, but do they also supply the paint on the SE bikes?  At one time, there was speculation that the SE paint was coming from House Of Kolor.

I am looking to paint a full size tour pak and some lowers for my SERG.  I'd rather not have to guess a "color match" to these paint colors.  Plus, HD does not offer in the P&A catalog a full size tour pak for this model, only a chopped tour pak.

Thanks!

http://www.paintscratch.com/

I've had good luck with paintscratch and they mix and ship within two days. If they don't have your color on their chart, tell them the year, model and color, they will do the rest. The final product is a perfect match. I bought some matched painted parts from Harley and you would think the paints would match, they don't. Paintscratch match is perfect and i ended up repainting some items Harley sent me with their paint. I bought two quarts and let me tell you, two quarts, or even one quart will go a long long ways. So don't get excited and buy more then you need.  If your current paint is a Tri-Coat, as was in my case, get ready to spend some major bucks. That stuff is not cheap.

Gunslinger custom paint can perfectly match the CVO colors. http://www.gcpaint.com/

The did the paint match for the Fat Bagger Conversion i did to CaliforniaMatt's SEUC and it is a perfect flawless job. They also did the SE Dyna line for HD the last few years.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Gunslinger nd Paintscratch are two good companies and may be able to do a match.

I was hoping to find out the actual name of the manufacturer for the '09 SERG as well as the actual color codes.

Although the 2009 codes are not here, this may help others.

The SE paints are also PPG. HD will never supply any of the paint (except the touch up) to the owners. It is very restricted. We have all some how some way got around it. The codes will be in the PPG library in a few months. Untill then try to find a good painter who mixes and color matches. Thye can do it.

In the past, the CVO paint codes have not been published anywhere.

Thank you, DAWG!
With PPG supplying the paint for the SE bikes, that should make getting the correct paint codes somewhat easier through a friendly PPG rep.  In the past, the SE colors never were published in the PPG library, but as I said, with the help of a friendly PPG rep they might be accessible.  My bike's not coming in until January, so I'll not need the tour pack or the lowers until the spring '09 riding season.....I have time to infiltrate PPG!

Thanks again!

Incorrect. My painter gets the name from me and the code from his PPG supplier all of the time. In the past it was a big secret the MOCO kept from us. When it came out that PPG was the paint supplier it was easy. PPG will make any and all paint codes available.

If your PPG dealer has the new and improved mixing systems and the latest and greatest mixing codes, they will have it. I have seen in the past where the name did not match but the color damn sure did!!!!
