SERG AND CVO: VERY GOOD TO ME! NEXT?
« on: December 10, 2008, 02:01:29 PM »

OK, Loved my '04 RG.  Had no reason to sell but like you, always thought a Screamin' Eagle RG would be sooo cool....  So, HD announces new SERG.   :huepfenjump3:   I research that and what do I find?  cvoharley.com, of course.  Ordered the SERG late July.  Sold the '04, August 23.  Picked it up, October 4.  Boy was that a fun wait....   :'(   In the meantime, I read here, LEARN, search for discounts and look what happened:

Bike:

SERG MSRP                         $31,199.
Freight to CA                            345.
Handling                                   598.
Extended warranty                     998.
Tax & Fees                             3,146

Accessories (with tax & shipping):

Tour Pak w/ lock, backrest,
hardware & docking kit             1,577.
Tour Pak organizer & liner            127.
Fullsacs 2"  Muff. Cores               119.     (Thanks Jim and Steve!)
Catless Head Pipe                       120.
Core Bit                                      40.     (ditto)
Klock Werks windshield                155.     (Sold)
Clearview windshield GT sm          140.     (For Sale)
Cee Bailey's 14" Dark                   240.     (Worth it!)
Digital oil dipstick                       121.
Heavy Breather                          250.
Andrews 54 Cams.                      250       (Plus Install but worth it!)
SERT & dyno                             550.
Titan Amp.                                450.     (Thanks Jim! the HW price was too much)
Polk Audio Speakers                     80.      (And $3 at Radio Shack for connectors)
Tune Trapper Antenna                  40.      (switched to Dakota Dig. w/ "y" adapter, reception OK)
Lindby Engine Guard                    325.     (Now I can't spend the $$ for HD lowers, sold the stock bars)
E-Z Brake lever                          180.      (Returned.  Does not work w/ Rumble brake lever nor Lindbar)
Kuryakyn LED front signals            109.
Kuryakyn LED Curved Plate Frame    78.     (Thanks Bixby for inst. to drill bracket, not fender)
Xenonlink headlights                    120.     (Thanks Jim!)
G-W Chrome Fasteners                200.
Chrome flush axle & fork cap         175.      (Hell's Foundry)
'07 Derby Cover w/ SE script           --      (Dealer had an extra w/ blue script)
Finned Headbolt Bridge Cover          55.     (With paint)
Corbin Gambler seat                     525.

Still looking at rear boards and highway pegs (very nice!).   Trailer / Sidecar?  (kidding)   Pin Striping for the Tour Pak?  New House?  It's only $$$ money  .  End result and chatting with CVO members?  PRICELESS!!     Thank you for my Bankruptcy (kidding, for now).

What's next?  Am I on the right track?

Greg, Yes you are on the right track and your SERG is looking really great! The Lindby engine guard looks good, living in California you don't really need lowers anyhow. I am surprised that you haven't made it up to Corbin for a seat, however, the stock seat ain't that bad. Amp and speakers are a huge improvement over stock, one word of caution though - don't run the stereo for an extended period of time while you are working on your bike when the engine isn't running. Don't ask me how I know, but the amp's suck a lot of juice from the battery.

it's a beauty, thats for sure.  I have a simialr tale that at some point I will have to tell.  But in short, bought an 08 RG and made the usual mods.  Then saw the SERG.  Sold the 08 in August, spent $1500 to rent a RG to go to the 105th and am still waiting on the SERG (expected ship date of 12/19).  Too boot, i habe ordered much of what you have listed out too.  Peace

Very nice looking scoot..............  I'm still waiting as well with a ship date of 12/19. I guess new year's I'll be united with my Silver SERG and then I'll start adding the parts I've collected in the basement.

Thanks for sharing........

WTS,  Thanks. Love yours too.

Screamin,  A month off sounds too good to be true!

Guilty,  I must be a hard a_s, as I like the seat. Those Corbins are sure nice....

TLR, It's worth the wait (not to mention, weight).   Peace to all of us!

Fired00d, Thanks!

TN,  Thanks,  That it's never done is half the fun!

BryantH,  I've now seen the Silver in the light and at night.  Beautiful!

twmartin1970,  Can't go wrong with O/B.

Joe,  If there's a doc, in the house, tell them to go away!   :huepfenjump3:

But the question remains, what's next?   :xmas:
