Greg, derby cover looks great. Wonder why they stopped putting them on the touring SE bikes for '09??
Sure wish they had a timing cover to match, like they did for the '06 SE 103's..

I wonder if it has anything to do with warranty claims for the paint peeling.  My 05 is peeling and I forgot to mention it when I took it in for service last time.  I'm pretty sure I read that they'll cover them under warranty.

Got my curved plate frame on and mounted.  Drilled the frame, what a pain, but woth it now that it is done.  You reall need three hands to get it mounted, one to hold the frame one to hold the stock piece in the fender and one for the bolt.

Good job Dave!  :2vrolijk_21:  It was not easy for me to drill the back plate rather than the fender and I had help.  (four hands)  Let's see it because

Why you say?  Ah!  The genius of HD marketing (which makes up for their lack of engineering genius)  Why?  So we'd figure it out and spend $$$!

Hi Larry,

Yes!  I've seen advertisements in the mags but esp. in that free mag / paper at the HD shops...  Having a brain fart and can't recall the name of the publication.   I'll check for you.  Also:

http://www.knucklebusterinc.com/features/2007/09/20/motorcycle-engraving-otto-carter/

http://www.bikernet.com/news/PageViewer.asp?PageID=1392

There are others.  Try googling "Motorcycle metal engraving."

Note that the '09 cover is very thin compared to the '07 cover.  That may matter if you're engraving.   :nixweiss:

Desert Dave requested a pic head on with the Xenon's and Kuryakyn LED's.  Here you go:

Greg, you got a part # for the front led's and is anything else need for this mod?

thanks

Kuryakyn #'s:
Amber lens: 4836        Smoked:  4825

 http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/8/scID/7/IMID/1608

I went with smoked.  The amber would clash with the beautiful yellow....  (lol)  Nothing else needed.

thanks, i was wondering about the load equalizer and figured it was not needed because of the rear led's

i'm going with the amber, you can't have too much visibility.

You do need the load equalizer but it comes in the package.

Finned Headbolt Bridge Set.  Thank you Highwaystar!!  See his thread about buying the silver and painting to match.  I have plenty of extra paint for the S. CA guys who may want to do this.

Greg,
Your previous post was a couple of months back, but do you still have some extra paint for the finned headbolt bridge set?  If so, maybe we can talk about it at the upcoming Elsinore ride.

Thanks

you ask a man to borrow his paint, hmmm, not sure how that works on the Left coast but in these parts it's a no no. lawn mower yes, paint no. especially granite paint,  :huepfenlol2:
here's the part number 98606CTN get it from dealer 20 bucks and then you'll have enough to paint the starter, use for touch ups.  :2vrolijk_21: IAG

What's a lawn mower?  In these parts, you get some grass that grows up through the cement, you just use weed killer.  It will probably cost me $10 in gas and $20 for beer to pick this up, but if a person can ride the scoot over and meet a fellow CVO member, than IMHO, that is priceless.

I'll bring the paint on the 26th.  Small can was $5.  It's amazing to me how much attention the SERG gets.  Met my current flame because she and her then guy walked up to admire the SERG!    ;)   ::)    :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:

Thanks Greg.  See you at Elsinore on the 26th.  I imagine you guys will be taking the 91 from SM area.  Hard to pass up going over the Ortega Hwy twice in one day so that will be my route from Huntington Beach.  I know the route back includes riding from Elsinore - Ortega - Hells Kitchen.

ADC / Allen (and others) have such beautiful seats it really got me thinking.  After looking at the various brands & threads reviewing them, I went with the Corbin Gambler.  Corbin seems to be the only brand that covers the seat mount and is thus longer and thus has a locking mechanism included.  Got the yellow piping to dress it up a little.  These pictures don't show it but after taking these, I applied some brown to the piping to make the yellow match up better.

Result is you sit slightly lower and stay put.  I would tend to slide around on the HD vinyl, esp. when carrying a passenger.  Took all of a week to get.  I'll try to take some better pics soon.
