Anyone tried a Mustang seat on their 09 SERG??
« on: March 19, 2009, 10:26:42 PM »

I've always liked a Mustang solo with a backrest and called them today to find out about fitment.  They first told me that it wouldn't fit an 09 but then they talked to someone in the back and they said that they put a couple on in Daytona and they fit, but they left a gap at the nose.  In other words they would work if you could work around the gap.  I see that Harley makes a piece to cover the gap-at least it's in their catalog.
Has anyone gone this route and is using a Mustang solo?  Just wondering about the fit and how they covered the gap.

SERG3,  do you happen to have the # of the seat you have?  According to their catalog it should be #79600 .  Is that correct?  I'd like to get one as I don't want to spend $300 just to get the harley backrest & mount.  Might as well spend a little more and have the whole Mustang seat & backrest.
Just want to know which # seat so I don't get the wrong one.
Thanks in advance.

You must be taking to someone that does NOT know the product line, I worked with them in Oct. to finalize the design.

I certainly believe you but this just amazes me. I just talked to them yesterday and they told me that it wouldn't fit correctly, but here on CVO are pictures of them on the bikes!!!!   Maybe I need to call them back and tell them to look on here to find out what they have for sale.
Thanks everyone----does anyone have a part number for the seat?

Just pulling my stuff out, now this is for a solo seat with back rest, I'm sure they make a two up if that is what you want, in either case this will permit you to wake someone up up there:  you might asked for a lady, sales code is SW.
Part Number  79600  08-09 FLHR/X/T/TR VINT Solo DBR
  "      "        78032  1999-up roadking seat nuts-PR
"      "        78064  mini fender bib road king

If after all that they still don't know what your talking about, advise I'll provide the invoice#

good luck,  :-\ :-\ :'( :2vrolijk_21:

Jet Jocky,

Did the Mustang seat change your riding position?  I'm looking for a seat that will move me back a bit, and also allows more reward lean.  Stock seat on the FHTRSE3 will not work for me. I have a Mustang solo on my '05 Rood King that I like a lot.  The Corbin set up looks nice too.  Not sure which way to go.

What is the part # for the rack too?  What modifications are required to do this?  Do you have any close-ups of the fender from the top with the rack installed?  Thanks.
