What oil ??

Newbee here.  First Harley after many years of water cooled Hondas.  Going in for the 1000 mile service and am wondering if I should go with synthetic oil.  any and all comments are more than welcome.  Also, should I consider an oil cooler (2009 Road King Classic in Texas)

Been a bunch of discussions on this here - might want to do a search...

Think you'll find the majority run a Syn like Mobil 1 in the motor and seems that Red Line is the oil of choice for the primary and trans...

That is my combo, the Redline with shockproof really smoothed out my shifting.

Just got my bike back from the 1000 mile service and I am changing the oils as we type here.

AMSOIL 20-50 in the Engine and Primary

AMSOIL 75-110 in the Trans

Any oil other than the factory Syn3 will be an improvement.

Yep, just had it out and the engine and driveline are much quieter than with the Syn3. I have the luxory of having most of the AMSOIL stuff I use here in my garage. I'm an AMSOIL dealer and I change oils and do other work on bikes of all makes here as a hobby  8)
