07 SERK 110 Engine problems

I have a 2007 SERK with 110 Engine.  I have had my bike into the local Harley dealer for engine problems from noise in the top end to oil leaking from the cylinder base.  I have had all the recalls done on the bike.   The last time it was in they changed the cylinder gaskets.  Yesterday I started the bike up and went about 5 miles turned the bike off-when I came back and drove about 1 mile the motor started making a loud clicking noise like it was not getting oil to the top end and the oil light came on-I turned the bike off right away and took it in to the Harley dearler-they told me they had to tear the motor down to find the problem.  I am not very happy about the way the motor has held up-I have about 3600 miles on the bike since the last recall was done on the bike.  I am waiting to see if Harley stands behind this-if not I am going to look for a different direction to take.

Just a guess, but maybe one of the very common bad cranks took the oil pump out.  Do you have the extended warranty?

No I do not have the warranty-have not heard back from the Harley dealer yet-will keep everyone posted.  I do have a call into Harley-but have not heard back from them yet

Harley dealer called me today-they said the flywheel shifted and ruined the motor.  The good news is HARLEY is going to put a brand new 110 Engine in at no charge to me.  They said the new motor will be here in 4 or 5 days and they will have the bike back to me by the end of next week.

should have told them to make sure it was a motor for a RED serk (they are the faster ones)

Picked up bike Satuarday-The local Harley dearler installed a new 110 engine at no cost to me.  Harley dearler said the flywheel moved and ruined the original motor.  The motor is an 09 engine with my original VIN numbers, they also extended the warranty on the motor for 2 years.  The Harley dearler did a very nice job installing the motor and kept me informed when the new motor came in and when I could pick it up.  I am very happy with the way Harley stepped up to the plate and did not give me any hassle at all.  I am glad I had all my services done by the Harley dearler as that was one of the things Harley wanted to see before they made a decision on what to do with the engine.  I was not charged anything other than a new battery-which I asked them to install-the dearler ask me to bring the bike in when I get 1000 miles on the new engine for a free oil change.

Glad everything worked out OK with your motor.

Different subject entirely - like the fairing, which one is it - a dragonfly??
