How many warranty problems have you had???    

Love this bike but...  Took delivery October 4, 2008.  Since then, under warranty:

     1.  Within the first week, noticed oil leak from the oil cooler adapter.  Dealer replaced.

     2.  Seat replaced due to the tank "gap."  Finally got sick of the slippery vinyl seat and replace with Corbin.

     3.  May, 2009, Radio display disappears.  Dealer replaces radio.  (Charges one hour of labor to deal with my after market amp etc.  Can't really blame them for that.  

     4.  Cruise control and abs lights in the tach stopped working some time ago.  Dealer pulled another tach from a CVO to check, found problem was with the tach and will replace tach later today.  Update:  replacement tach back light too dim to match other instruments and probably needs replacement.  Done and still too dim. ARGH!  

     5.  Jiffy Stand changed at 100 mi. service.

     6.  Steering head bearings loose (front end decel. wobble), tightened at 5,000 mi.

     7.  Starter clutch dies, replaced at 6,100 mi.

     8.  Front tire "cupping" at 7,100 miles.  Can hear it in "wine" the turns now.  Turns out both tires       are cupping.  Weeks of back and forth with the dealer and HD who finally (August 30) agrees to replace both tires at 9,100 miles not as a warranty item but "to satisfy customer."  This really should be a Dunlop issue not an HD issue.  Then no front tire in stock.  Dealer finally replaces front with a D402F at 10,000 mile service.

     9.  Starter dies again at 7,600  miles.  Must be the ACR's.  

   10.   At 10,000 mile service, I complain (for the umpteenth time) the rear shocks do not hold air.  Tech finds that left shock is leaking oil and dealer has to order another set of shocks.  At least they let me clean polish bike while up on the rack...

This has to eat into HD's profitability.  The SERG is supposed to be "hand built" by one tech.  Good thing I have the extended warranty!!  Good luck!!!

4.Right Saddle bag Bad Paint

Warranty repairs...a few small inconveniences.
1) Replaced transmission gasket (leak)
2) Replaced seat (gap)

1015 miles - Had to get leaky front brake fluid resevoir fixed (new gasket)
1015 miles - Had to steal a transmission bleeder valve (I think that's what it's called) rubber cover from another CVO in dealer's showroom because they refused to admit my bike was supposed to have one (even though the 3 other CVO's in their showroom had them).
1100 miles - Seat replaced #1 due to tank gap

Seat of course and d#mb it I want a new front tire! 3600 miles and its shot from cupping. I'm bitchin till I get one. So far no luck.

Picked up bike November 21st
1) Oil leaking from Oil Pressure Switch - Tightened up and sent down the road..
2) Oil still leaking from Oil Pressure Switch - Swap out switch, complained about front tire cupping 2800 miles
3) Oil still leaking from Oil pressure Switch - Put on new sealing tape and tighten it up better, Complained about tire cupping again 4600 miles, checked tire and told me that it was at 3/32 over half worn and they would not be able to do anything about it. I claim BS and ask for a tire tread depth gauge, walk to the showroom and measure new tire at 5/32 told them I wanted a new tire, and that Dunlap did not make a new tire just for chits and giggles, they know they have a problem. Service manager said he will call MoCo and get back to me.
4) 5260 miles, New Dunlap D408F installed - Still no Oil leak...

I'm seeing a common thread throughout many of these "issue" discussions. 

Get the Service guy to call MoCo Tech Support if you want resolution !!!!

4000 oil cooler gasket (warranty)
5200 loose steering head bearing (warranty)
9000 loose steering head bearing (warranty)
11000 jiffy stand bracket (warranty)
13000 seat due to gap (warranty)
13000 front wheel and tire (warranty)
13300 front axle bearing kit (warranty - tech forgot a spacer when replacing wheel and tire)
13500 left front rotor (warranty)
20000 TSM (turn signal module) bike would not start (warranty)
21000 rear brake rotor (warranty)
21000 horn (warranty)
21000 driver's right floor board insert (warranty - rubber collapsed and has a rattle)
21000 headlight trim (warranty - doesn't fit when headlights adjusted to specs)
front outer fairing (warranty - chunk of paint came off replacing headlight trim)

I have had issues with this bike, more so than any other harley I have owned but the dealer/moco have been very accommodating taking care of everything that has happened.

Picked up bike Dec 20 08 . HD replaced bike with 3500 miles on it on 4-09, since new bike no problems at 2000 miles. Just to many parts replaced to list here on first bike.   Doc

very good idea for a thread.  Helps us all to know what to look for.  we should also hear from folks that have not had any issues.  This way we can balance the overall % of issues.  anyway, 1100 miles and no issues, except fpr Tour Rak.  First one I got did not fit well at all.  Dealer replaced under warranty.

3200 miles and no warranty repairs yet. Detachable Tour Pak Rack has never fit correctly, but the dealer hasn't showed any interest in replacing it.
