Fullsac X Pipe Dyno Test. 4 HP gain!
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:19:38 AM »

Here's a dyno comparison of the Fullsac X pipe VS the OEM non cat headpipe.

Test Bike was an 09 Bagger with a 107" kit, Stock heads, Andrews 54 cams, Heavy Breather AC, Stock mufflers recored with 2.0 cores.
Dyno runs were completed within a 2 hour period, same tank of gas.
I mention this because weather and fuel variations can have a huge effect on dyno numbers.
Full throttle fuel curve was actually slightly rich through the midrange and adjusted accordingly.
Bottom end torque increase was "really noticeable" as reported by owner Nick on his 180 mile ride home to Vegas.

Run 55, stock non cat headpipe.
Run 75, Fullsac X pipe, "B" version.

Special thanks to Nick Mallas of Las Vegas for riding with a Fullsac!

Coming from one of the most respected tuners in the industry, that's quite a compliment.

Thank you.

Congrats Steve!
I know you've put a lot of sweat equity into the development of the X Pipe as well as all of your products. The quality and performance shows. Nothing released until you feel it's fully ready. No doubt, not just another pretty pipe but one that works well and sounds good too. Glad to have had the opportunity to use, test and recommend your products and will continue to do so. Look forward to using the "X".

Nice work Steve.  I have your 2.5 baffles in a non cat header.  i recently purchased and installed your TTS and bike is running well.  if i swapped out my header for yours do you think I would see a 4hp gain as well.  BTW, ride is an 09 CVO.  Thanks Ted

Hi Steve

I hope you're planning a dyno run comparing a (96") stock OEM cat headpipe versus a Fullsac X-pipe?

Steve, 4hp gain between the non-cat and your X pipe but what would be the difference in the cat pipe vs the X pipe in performance in a SESG?

Hey Ted

4 hp would be normal. Its the bottom end torque that your going to feel seat of the pants.
Consider adding a set of cams at the same time if you really want to bring it to life.

Thanks for your interest.

Warwick and Kingdog.

I did a ton of step by step dyno testing with the cat on the CVO bikes last year.
After high flow baffles and AC were added, removing the cat and remapping accordingly
was showing a solid 8 HP gain with no other changes. The X pipe should show an average 10-12 hp gain over a stock Cat headpipe.
The combination of parts is always going to be the key, not a single magic piece.
A basic stage I package: High flow mufflers, AC and The X pipe will see HP numbers in the high 90s with torque well over 110.
Add a set of 54 cams and HP numbers will go 105+. A little clean up on the heads by Deweys, Bam! 110 HP!
The magic 1 HP per cube can be achieved with a torque curve that will drag a Goldwing backwards.
Sorry Honda guys.

Thanks Steve, just the info I was looking for. What other cam choices would you say works well, so I don't have to pull the heads. Just a bolt in cam.

Andrews 54 is my fav. Andrews 37, Woods Tw7 and the CR 575 are good bolt in cams too.

Hi Steve,

any recommendations if one has to stick with SE-cams (for warranty-reasons)?

Kraut
Tell me what your build consist of and I will give you my opinion for a SE cam. I do agree with Steve....I don't care for the SE line however the 251 is not a bad cam...the others are good for fishing.
