Must Have Changes For New SEEGs...
« on: April 23, 2004, 12:51:36 PM »

Well...there is alot of talk about accessories, and changes and such, so I thought it would be good to have a thread just for new accessories and changes that we consider mandatory on our bikes, so that new owners can read quickly what we have found, and therefore can quickly consider what to do for their own bikes, from our experience.

I would definitely say that a mandatory change would be a touring seat, for long-distance travel if not for everyday stuff.  Corbin and Mustang have made some great seats for the SEEG, and any Road King seat would fit adequately.

Also, a slightly higher windshield seems to have been a big hit for most people here.  8-9" seems to be a sleek look, but good wind protection and a big hit with SEEGs.

Anyone else?

1.  I changed to the SE Teardrop Air Cleaner Cover for 2 reasons:

A.  The shape follows the slope of the painted graphics from the lower fairings to the tank to the side cover and down the saddlebags, sort of an upside down nike swoosh.

B.  But more importantly, So that it matches my 2003 SED!

2.  Fuel cover changed to the push button kind...otherwise don't forget a key low on gas!

and many more...

Absolutely...I forgot about the push-button gas lid.  Definitely a must-have.

Oh, and the Dakota Antenna, especially if you are doing the detachable tour-pak.

And the leg fairing vents if you live in the hot part of the country.  And the locking leg fairing glove boxes (that I have coming......I'll post pics).

Great thread Doc! [smiley=beerchug.gif]  And Mo Chrome split the list up real nice, too.

Other items on the appearance side.....the saddle bag lid wing tips and the headlight and passing lamp frenched trim rings.

Thanks...

Hey, how much for the spoiler lights?  And are they painted to match already, or does that need to be done?

Geez you guys...my list is getting longer for a bike that is "done!"
