Iron Cross, thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. When I think back, I am pretty sure the radio was cutting out intermittently from when I first started riding the bike, which sat in my garage for a year due to illness and other obligations that precluded riding it. Anyhow, I will definitely ask them to check the items you identified. If it is a bad audio circuit though, what will they do, replace the radio with another that has the same inadequately built circuit? Thanks again.

That's what happen to me, dealer replaced my radio three times, then (Jim) Hd-dude sent my radio to Iron Cross and now my radio works really well  :2vrolijk_21:

well this probably calls for humor, since there are not too many other options. I hate to ask, but have you had other "issues" with your bike too?

I have an 05 cherry can I put one of the newer 06 and latter HK in the fairing .

Yes.  I put an HK radio out of an '09 Ultra in my '04 EG.  If your buy a brand new HK unit, it will need to be calibrated by an HD store or Iron Cross Audio can do it for you.  For the AVC to work on the HK, you will need to make one simple wiring change to the Base Audio Connector that plugs into the back of the HK unit.

Took the CUSE4 in yesterday to have them check out why the radio is cutting out on me as previously mentioned on this message chain. I mentioned possible cracked circuit board based upon what I've read on this site. Servie writer and tech there whn I mentioned the radio cutting out. Tech says it may be something to do with the "squelch" setting of the CB and that the CB was also turned on while the regular radio is and that if the CB picks up a signal from another CB transmission, it will make the radio cut out while the other CB is transmitting. Hadn't heard of that before. Have any of you heard of the CB interfering with the radio playing? Never use the CB, so plan to turn it off if possible.

Yep, that did happen to me, but only after I keyed my mic to transmit, the radio would not come back until I turned it off and back on.  My friends bike had rain get into his CB and it was always keyed to transmit.  If I was out of his range, I was fine.  I thought I had a radio problem until we powered his off.  However, it had nothing to do with my "squelch" settings.
