Carson City/Virginia City 6/27/10

Several of the Nor Cal members were slated to ride up to Carson City this weekend and then catch the historical steam train up the hill to Virginia City.  For various reasons, several had to cancel however, five of us still made it.

Don & Carol (D31963) met us at the agreed location at the agreed time and we continued on up Hwy.50 towards Lake Tahoe.  Our first stop in Pollock Pines.

**Note**
I moved my tour pack to the forward position on the solo mount rack and it's very nice.....the seat backrest supports my back and the tour pack backrest supports my shoulders.  I think it's going to be what the dr. ordered for my cross country ride in a few months! :2vrolijk_21:

Heading on up Hwy. 50.

Traffic was heavy but weather was perfect and we certainly weren't in any hurry.....a great ride.

Tried to get a shot of the river but at speed in the twisties it's a bit difficult to get a good shot.

The billboard advertising the train that we're scheduled to ride the following day.  This is at Strawberry Lodge for those that know Hwy. 50 and this area.

We arrive in Carson City and Rich (Dirty Harry) was waiting.  Rich was a member here and rode a number of rides with the Nor Cal group back in 2004 before he moved out of the area.

Rich wasn't on a CVO back then but you can see he went right to the top of the heap. :2vrolijk_21:
