Another Air Cleaner Fix

Well...went to my local ACE Hardware today to find something to support the stock SEUC air cleaner cover on my Arlen Ness Big Sucker. I think I may have found a solution. Looking for feedback to see if others agree. Here go the pics.....

First off...the air filter attached to the stock cover. Not much contact between the rubber gasket and the cover...especially on the front side.

Here is a pic with the air filter mounted on a cover from my old '08 Electra Glide or the old 'football cover'. Full contact between the gasket and the cover...all around.

This pic shows the stock SEUC cover with some Narrow Gap Rubber Tape from Ace Hardware. I cleaned the inside of the cover...wiped it down with Isopropyl Alcohol...did an initial tracing with a Sharpie...and attached the material. I added the four center pieces to provide additional support. There are two pieces stacked on top of each other in these spots.

Here is one view...with the filter attached. There is full contact between the outer edge of the filter and the gasket.

One thing to note...I believe the Arlen Ness filter is different than the K&N and the H-D version. In this pic you will notice the outer gasket sits above the metal surface. I was gonna try cahdbiker's fix (check his thread http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=51462.0) but the old support bracket would not fit properly. So...it looks like depending on what make filter you have...you will have to custom fit.
