Tour Pak install

Went easy enough with the help of the forum here. Docking hardware instructions were a little confusing but figured it out.

Ridge, just got your email.  Only important thing is that you put the extra long spacers on the outside of the rails in all 4 spots so that effectively your docking point will be 3/8" longer than with just the saddlebags alone (as is illustrated by the left side of the bike/vs the right.  I don't do anything with my lower docking point.  Guess it just pivots and is fine.  Otherwise you won't get your saddlebags installed at all.    Try to get a picture here........   Pork
Good job, by the way.  Looks to be complete.

Now my lower docking point is a bit different than most as I installed the aerwing footboards which required me to put saddlebag relocations kit.  But it is the same thin spacer as above but with a smaller bushing hole in it.  Hope the pic shows it clearly in the bottom right part of the pic.  Pork

Hey Guys.. Is it possible to mount the Tour Pac to the same mounts that the removable Backrest mounts on? I sure would be nice if you could, your never gonna use both at the same time right?

Gamma you are exactly right.  You cannot use both at the same time.  But you do mount both at the same location (same groove in the bushings)  .  Notice a couple pictures up that the outer grooves in the docking points (2) on the left side are about 3/8th " longer than on the right side.  This is so that the saddlebag sticks out a bit farther to clear the side of the trunk.  Otherwise, it is so close clearance that the bag will not fit in the grooves, or docking points.  So, you must effectively extend them to gain about 1/4 " clearance.  Now, as it takes a little time to switch bushings, if I am going to run with the trunk and then go with the sissy bar  shortly after, I will just leave the extender bushings in place.  You really don't notice the extra space between bags and the frame that much.  It is only the outer bushing you change.  The inner bushings (4 all around) always stay in place and their groove is where the sissy bar/trunk will locate.  Make sense???   (the) Porkster.

Just traded in my wife's 2010 ST Deluxe for a 2012 ST Conv., I kept the leather tour pac (they didn't offer me anything extra on trade in) and I know the TP mounting rack won't fit so I was talking to the parts guys and they say there is not a tour pac mounting rack to fit this model, is there a H-D one or an aftermarket one and does anyone have part #'s?

So that will fit on the 2012 with the 200mm back tire? or does it need to be spit and have extensions welded in?
