Cary Faas Racing Exhaust
« on: September 11, 2010, 05:32:13 PM »

Changed from my old setup, TTS Mastertune, Battistini True Duals, Stock AC, Stock Cans and Cycle Shack 1 7/8" Baffles...

To some Cary Faas Racing (CFR) slipons...

Now I'm waiting for the Fullsac X-Pipe B to come in sometime next week.

Hey, those CFR's sound sweet!!! I'm guessing they sound similar to the new 4" Rineharts  :nixweiss:- seem to have that race car sound to them.

Trust me, once you get your x pipe, they will sound and perform even better!!!

Did you put baffles in your header pipes in front of the CFRs?

I love my CFR's except that the front of the slip-on where it slides in to the pipe turned blue and now matches my Riptide Blue bike.

Nope. I know that I'll lose backpressure because of the wide open design of his pipes but I'm hoping to get a little bit back with the X-Pipe. I was thinking that a map for the new Rinehart 4" slipons might get me close and then I can V-Tune it from there(?). I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Jason:

You can buy direct from here: http://www.cfrmotorcycles.com/  probably pay list price and I think bikers image is a dealer but they never called me back after leaving 2 voicemails.

I bought a like new set from craigslist and had em on for one day. Initially , I liked the sound but the tune of my bike did not match well and lost a lot of low end response.  Read a lot of posts about difficult to tune and after a two hour ride  I decided they were too loud for me and I decided not to put the effort into trying to get them tuned and sold them almost instantly , losing 50 bucks in the process.

They look amazing and the tone of them is pretty bad a$$, but i gotta have some throttle response and I like to listen to the stereo every now and then as well.   :)

Some people put some baffles in the pipe to help out a bit, but I decided not to take the time to try that.  Hence the reason for my earlier question

You can also get them from baggernation.com. I got them directly from Paul Yaffe himself. Real cool dude to talk to...

Here's the updated sound clip with the Fullsac X-Pipe.

The off-idle stumble is still there but not as pronounced now. Jim (HD-Dude) did his best to get it to run right so I can't complain. I knew what I was getting into with these slipons anyway so oh well...
