Finding out that keeping the black engine parts on the Krypto a bit tougher than chrome.  Anyone found anything good out there.  After a good cleaning the parts look a bit cloudy to me, don't have that shine luster if you will.  Let's Roll

Gabe, look for a product called Pig Spit (you couldn't make that up).  The Pig Spit company makes a few different Pig Spit products.  For engines and other similar parts you want "The Original" Pig Spit.  It's the best I've seen for freshening up an engine's appearance.  I used it on the red cylinders and heads on the red bike.  It's also a snap to use.  Basically spray it on and walk off and leave it.

Don, thanks I will give it a shot hope that helps on those pesky powder coated parts.  I might even have some of that on the garage shelf.

I think that the MoCo has a product in their line of cleaning/detailing supplies that is similar to Pig Spit, can't remember the name, but essentially the same stuff for blacked out engines.  Pig Spit is all I've ever used on Ole Granny's motor.. ..works great!  spyder

Used that on my Fatboy to brighten the black engine up... here it is...

Yep, I use Pig Spit too, great stuff. More of a protectant than a cleaner, brings back the dark black to the crinkle finish on the motor, can get it on the chrome and paint without any problems. Like Don said, just spray it on and your done, beads water for several months.

Yes that works great on the engine and the works.  But the KRYPTO and I think new serg have that powder coated shiny parts that are a little different.  Anyhow I looked and have both the pig spit and the new Harley spray.  We'll see.  Let's Roll

Just watch that powdercoat - it's so soft that the slightest rub in the wrong direction will scratch it

On my FXDX I used to use S100 to clean it and Armor All to keep it looking new.  Still do the same on my '03 RK.

As far as applying some type treatment to your black engine - I saw a detailer at a bike rally using one of those cheap foam disposable paint brushes to apply a luster product to the engine.  It worked great between the engine fins and he didn't have to worry about dragging a rag over the chrome accents.

Okay, I am pretty picky when it comes to detailing.  I only use microfiber cloths and regular use an orbital on my cars.

I picked up the krypto today and noticed that the gloss black engine parts were a bit foggy.  A simple spray down with a detail spray and microfiber towel clean them right off to show quality.  The matte black engine pieces likely require a different technique, but don't use the same product on the engine that you use on the gloss black components.
