Space Shuttle Endeavour
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:33:40 PM »

Space shuttle Endeavour takes to California skies and I was lucky enough to take a few pictures of it as it flew by my house, located on SF Bay.

Here is one of the pictures I took as the Space Shuttle "Endeavour" sat piggy back on top of a 747 escorted by a fighter jet.

Enjoy  :)

Yesterday morning around 9:45 I was driving east on I-80 over the Yolo Causeway and caught a quick glimpse of the Endeavour piggy backed on the 747 on it's approach over the Capitol.  The flyover caused a short traffic halt as the 747 was flying real low. It was pretty awesome, the 747 was flying very low and very loud..  The best thrill of the month   :2vrolijk_21:

in the early 80s I was lucky enough to be working at edwards air base in so cal I was there taking out a ww2 era bomb pruff [sp] runway, the job took about a year and  we were parallel to the runway the 1st and most early landings took place on I got to see a few landings and movements of the shuttles was cool. :2vrolijk_21:
