I have a question for everyone, the dealer wants $2500 for this warranty on an 07 SE110 with a set of after market cams and better than stock lifters. Would I be better off putting that money in the bank, and see if some thing breaks? Your thought's will be greatly appreciated!

BTW - I just did a search and there are 42 threads with "Extended Warranty" in the subject with 25 in General Discussion, and 17 in Other Topics... seems like it has and will work in either board.

Relax... I think it would benefit you to get to know the members (how they answer/reply to your questions/threads) and how the forum is run.

The last price list I saw showed an MSRP of $2049 for the 5 year ESP on a used Touring model.  It was not quite $2500 with the Wheel and Tire coverage (Road Hazard) added.  Is that a good deal?  I have no idea.  Personally I never buy service contracts and prefer to pay as I go for repairs.  I've only been bit a couple times in the past 30 years on all the vehicles and appliances I've owned (at least on things that would have been covered), so I'd say I was a whole bunch of money to the good doing it my way.  Btw, a complete new crate engine for the bike is only about $5k from Harley and a factory Reman of your existing engine is significantly less than that.  Just to give you some reference on the most expensive possible failure.

The ESP folks have been known to deny claims if you have nonstandard parts.  If you decide to really consider this, get a copy of the full contract and read it carefully before agreeing to the purchase.  People selling these things often gloss over all the gotcha's in the contract.

Don't sweat the thread movements.  The mods don't always agree on where chit goes even among themselves.  It's not without precedent to see a thread moved, then moved again and even moved again as the Exalted Ones one after the other see something and think "hmm, that should go there."

After you're on the board a bit you may end up finding the location doesn't mean squat for viewing anyway.  The "Show Unread" or the "Show replies to your posts" become the habitual entry points then you just read what shows up; without regard to what section they're in.  Certainly not everyone does it that way.  But enough to insure you'll get seen.

On a 2007? The Bastard year for the 110 motor. I would be inclined to go with the warranty. I NEVER buy an extended warranty on anything. But on my 2012 SEULTRA I did. This motor scares me. Oh and if I blew the motor I do my own work so the labor is CHEAP!!!

If you plan on putting a lot of miles on your 07' and you can't make your own repairs, then buy the ESP but check some older posts on here for who to contact for a better price. You don't have to purchase from your guy. As stated read the fine print. Claims have been denied due to aftermarket parts.

look at it on paper go straight to the exclusions section  and read it first, these pages have a way of letting you know what you are getting and.................if its an insurance company that is providing this coverage probably safe, stay away from warranty companys, this my brother tellls me,and he has been a gm, and presided over a whole sloo of new car dealerships for about 40 years now.

I just purchased a 4 year w/tire-wheel pkg. on a used 2010 FLHXSE for 2000.00 after "haggling". I used the info from this forum and calling other local dealers for quotes. I can tell you from experience that the extended warranty can easily pay for itself with just one major issue and offers peace of mind.
