Power saddlebag locks
« on: April 16, 2013, 09:39:39 PM »

I'm building a MOCK CVO, and I'm asking how all of you like the power locks on your saddlebags and tourpak, is it worth the $700 investment?

I like mine.  Much more convenient than locking each separately.

I only wish the ignition on my FLHTCUSE5 power locked as well.  On the 2010 CUSE (except CUSE-Blk) the ignition did not power lock.  Because of this, if I don't manually lock the ignition, anybody can turn the ignition and press the lock switch to unlock all of the bags.

I like the locks OK, but on my bikes that do not have the automatic locks I do not plan to add them as I do not like them enough to make that investment.

Agree.  Kind of a nice novelty, but not $700 worth of inconvenience to have to manually lock them, either.

I find it very helpful when you walking away from your bike and your wife asks you for the 5th time"did you lock the bike" you can hold up the remote and hit the button.

This.  Love them on my CUSE5 but no plans to put them on my new RK.

I have an aftermarket security system with it also, so when I lock the bags, it will set the security system too!

I think they're very convenient on my FLTRUSE, but from where did you come up with the $700 valuation?  I don't think they're worth that much if they were sold separately as an option, but they were part of the whole CVO package.

Have a 2013 FLTRUSE8   When I got the bike,  all the gadgets and novelties didn't really impress me. But now I truly like all of the features. The power locks feature does come in handy and makes it just a little easier, if you can afford, go for it.  Just my 2 cents.  Manny

As many others have said, I really like them. Would I add them if it cost me $700? NOPE. I'm too cheap.

I like the power lock option. As stated it's not worth $700 and it makes the saddlebags a bit of a pain to take off and install. The wires are kinda short.

In My Opinion _ and you know what they say about opinions!!! Waste of Money...I bought my CVO used and thought it was a pretty cool idea untill I found out the tire had rubbed through the wires for the R/H side and when I thought it was locking, in reality it was not. also attempted to lock it manually, but when I turned the key back to where I could pull it out it would unlock it again.

I like the power locks way more than I thought I would. Push of a button to lock the bags, fork, and ignition. I don't know if I would have shelled out $700 before I bought this bike but I would now that I've used it!
