I bought chrome frame inserts for the bike today.  I had to lay down on the ground for the bottom insert and I noticed my kickstand spring is making a mark on my frame.  I have the rubber nub, so that's not the issue.  I went to the dealer to see if it can be adjusted and it can't.  There was another guy there with a standard Breakout and his has the same issue.  It's not a big deal, but something Harley did a chit job in the "engineering" department on.  They tried to put a bigger nub from a touring bike on, but the hole in the stand on my bike wasn't big enough....I'll come up with something.

See if you can use the old FL kickstand bumper.  It just squeezes around the frame wherever you choose to put it so can bump the kickstand just about anywhere you please.  Part # 50059-85

Nice idea!  You know, when I flipped up my stand to ride today, I could have sworn I heard a mild metal on metal sound.  I flipped the stand down to ensure my rubber bumper was still in place and it is.  I'm going to have to check into this to see if my spring is hitting the frame as well !

I just checked mine and luckily there isn't any scraping going on...yet. I'll probably add that bump stop just as a precaution.

checked my frame and it's fine as well.  not sure what I was hearing, but it was only once.

On a site with 20K + members it's doubtful you will find anyone stupid enough to pay that.
Maybe you think because we own Harley's most expensive bike we throw our money away.

I was just throwing a filler out there, didn't mean anything buy it.  I wouldn't be crazy enough to spend $40K on any Harley, but I couldn't believe cycletrader.com was selling the same bike for $35K!!!!  Its just good to know that our Breakout will never loose it's value and that's a good thing.  We own a collectors item, as long as they don't build another breakout in the years to come.....
