Yup my 2010 did it too......if it is humid but cool in the AM was the worst.....would let the sun burn it off.....the shop never saw it even if I left it there a few days

I have the same issue on my 2010 ConV. After 3 years it has not caused any problems and usually dissipates in 20 minutes or less.

The fogging is not so bad it does go away over time, but it has caused a "wet look" in the black area under the "RPM x 1000 area, just looks bad for a $30K bike.  Dealer said they can replace it, but my guess it will do it again.

Yes, but the moisture will eventually cause something to rust. Get it repalce while you have them willing to do it!

OK!   I am victim of posting curse.   :-*

Just 3 days ago,  I said "fogs up all the time.   3 years no problems yet! "

Yesterday,  beautiful day to ride.   Very high humidity and the fogging was about as bad as I have seen it.   When it finally cleared up, the tachometer was not working.   :o    Everything else,  speed and indicator lights,  still working.  Rode all day with many restarts,  still no RPM.

Does anyone know how to easily check to see if it is sender, receiver or wire ?

UPDATE on the speedo.    After closer inspection, looking from the outside,  I can see the little indicator is laying down in the unit.   Not sure if it is broken, came off or what.

When winter comes I will check it out, till then I really don't need to use the tach to ride.

Still kind of bummed.   :nixweiss:

I took mine out and sealed up the under side and it's still doing it.

My next attempt will be to inject silicone with a syringe between the Chrome Cover and the Glass. There seems to be a gap there and that is the only place it can be getting in.

I have had the entire unit out and can't see any other place to get it.. There were some very small holes on the bottom that I've sealed..

This has always bothered me ....that and the clock resetting on cold starts.. Otherwise, it's been a perfect bike!!

Please excuse if I don't post this correctly - first timer.
Anyway, here is a list of all the issues I had with my bike since new for what it's worth.  The dealer fixed all but the speedo which still fogs up and looses the time and range to empty sporadically.  I can't pin down why or when this happens.

BIKE PROBLEMS
1. dropped electrical -loss of clock, fuel, range, etc. OCCASIONAL
2.  Clear coat blisters on fender rivets. FIXED
3.  Keyless ignition emblem mirror cover fell off. FIXED
4. Lost bolt on passenger foot peg. FIXED BY SELF
5. Oil leak on left shock. - trans plug not tightened FIXED
6. Left Turn signal indicator not working after service. WORKING NOW
7.saddlebag leather falling apart. FIXED BY SELF
8.  Left Speaker failed. FIXED
9.  Chrome off kickstand. FIXED
10.  Condensate in gauge cluster
11. cracked throttle body FIXED - there was a bracket left on at the factory that didn't belong.

Mine started after the Dlr replaced the speedo head because of the Lo Fuel sensor kept coming on at 1/2 tank.
I have not had any issues with the clock since the Dlr re-flashed the unit. 20k on the ODO and still love riding the bike.
Don't see too many of the Satin Pewter, in fact, while in Milwaukee for the 110th, only saw one more. Prolly keep this one.
