2014 Road King Passenger Backrest
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:39:41 PM »

I just purchased a 2014 FLHRSE.
Can the bike be fitted with a passenger backrest (and a pad that matches the seat)?
I also bought the bike in Kansas City and rode it home over 2 days, around 600 miles the first day and 700 the second. The ride is impressive for a bike without a fairing, but I found the seat unfcomfortable for more than 90 minutes at a time, and I had to stop fairly often.

Congratulations! I have ordered one myself, am interested in your opinion on the seat and windshield. Please let us know how long and heavy you are?

You can  install a sissybar and get a  passenger backrest (pad) to match (it doesn't have the tuck n roll insert) but the materials and stitching will match.  Part # 52300300

Unfortunatley the seat will not accept a rider backrest

congrat on your new bike, I got SERK CVO last week and I love it. It came with windshield no buffeting at all. Seat for me is comfortable but I didn't go 700 mil. like you so can't tell on long distance. My first mode is going to be handlebar hella uncomfortable pulls my arms in that hands outward. I am going with 14'' carlini evil ape. (I am ape hanger guy ). Oh forget to say got matching trunk and docking hardware in deal.  :cucumber:

If 2014 compares to 2013 you should have a look at http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=77253.msg1054499#msg1054499

Ask Dan, dan@bitchnstitchninc.com
He'll tell you what he can do to match passenger backrest design.
Work and leather are perfect.

Stitching and leather match perfectly. Used Part number mentioned above for backrest. Looks even better up close

Forgot to add last picture.
Yes it is a CVO. 2014 CVO Road King. I hated the windshield (too much buffering - I am 6'1'') and I am using the one from my 2003 road king classic. Fits perfectly...

I had the passing lights done as well. Can't imagine a Road King without them...

I like the bar in black instead of the chrome.

I talked to Harley Corporate, there is a 2013 CVO backrest pad in the catalog that matches the seat exactly, but the stitching is black versus the yellow stitching on the stock seat.  For now Corporate has no intensions of coming out with a CVO back rest pad, if yellow stitching is the only difference.  I went with the CVO backrest pad on the new adjustable angle backrest.  The wife likes it leaned all the way back.
