Paint Codes for the 2006 FLHTCUSE
« on: October 09, 2013, 04:41:38 PM »

Good day; Rides.

I searched for the paint codes for the 2006 FLHTCUSE - gray, black, burgundy slash but had no luck finding any codes.

I did see a reference to a PPG library; but still could not find any codes related to my scoot.

Your guidance and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paint Codes for 2006 FLHTCUSE
« Reply #1 on: October 10, 2013, 11:36:13 AM »

Good day; Riders. I've searched the forums for paint codes for my scoot that was scratched by "admirers" during the summer months travel. I went to the PPG library but could not find any information.

I ride a 2006 FLHTCUSE with the color combination of Gray, Black (really very dark brown), with the burgundy slash.

I have to have the front fairing and gas tank repainted.

All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
G

Find a Dupont paint dealer & try looking up your 06 SE color. I repainted my American Legend Trailer to match my 2011 CVO SE Ultra. The Dupont color was close but not perfect. It needed more or brighter metal flake to match. If you don't have a dupont dealer up there PM me your colors & I'll see what I can do.

I'm getting ready to have some paint work done over the winter and what I can say is .. I don't think the FBI, CIA or even  the NSA could get the color codes for the Harley Paint  -- Harley won't even officially confirm who the manufacturer of the paint is! never mind the mixing ratios even if you get the color code, or the proper primer/sealer, the base coat colors for the candies - the order of application of the multi layer colors ect..  Harley keeps the information under triple lock and key. Even the non CVO paint colors can be a pain to match from what I've heard.

Best bet is to find a reputable painter who has the tools and experience to play mad scientist to analyze and match the colors and have an honest discussion with them about what is going to be involved.  Just be ready to pay him/her for their time and expertise.

Besides this ain't my painters first time matching HD paint and he and I are on the same page in regards to what is involved regarding the labor and material cost to match the paint colors on my 11.5

I have the same Black Candy Crimson on my '06. I was able to order a set of touch up colors from my dealer. It took a week or two but I did get them. There's three bottles in the kit. #94248 Red Topcoat , #39H014 Black Metallic and #94250 Blue/Grey Metallic.

The kit I have is Harley Part #94399

Hope this information helps in some way.
