My husband and I just got back from a trip of the lifetime! We each took our motorcycles on board the Independence of the Seas for an 8 night cruise to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan, PR, and Labadee Haiti (Labadee is a private island and we were not able to ride on it). I was somewhat leery when my husband suggested this trip as I am very cautious about keeping my bike from danger.  A total of 22 motorcycles loaded the ship in Ft. Lauderdale. They had to list the ship to one side to try and keep the ramp from being so steep. You ride your own bike on, park it, tie it down, and ride off. No one else has access to your bike. Riding up the ramp for the first time was definitely an experience! The ramp was maybe 3 foot wide at the bottom with the rails flaring out at the top. After watching 19 other bikes load (including 2 that tipped over up the ramp) it was my turn.....OMG, white knuckles and all.....I did it!! This was the beginning of Kim and Donald's Fantastic Voyage! The ramps at the three ports we rode off were all fairly level. St. Maarten was beautiful, although the roads had pot holes. We stopped at a local market and then had lunch on a topless beach. The scenery on the island was unreal. Our next stop was St. Kitts. This was the most memorable island to ride as our escort (an island policeman) led us to some places off the beaten path. It was also a left hand drive country so we just made sure to stay behind the one in front of you. It was somewhat confusing in the roundabouts as they had no traffic lights. Our last island to ride on was San Juan. A group with PuertoRicanBiker.com met us at the port and escorted us through their crazy traffic. We visited an old fort and the Bacardi Factory. We had to depart the port early, so this was pretty much all we could fit in.  The first time we loaded the ship, it took an hour to load all the bikes and tie them down. By this time, we were able to get it done in less than 10 minutes! The best part of the trip was that we all raised money for the Special Olympics of Georgia! :pepper:  It was amazing that 22 motorcycles took this trip, we had no breakdowns, accidents, or other incidents. My motorcycle made it home without a scratch and I had the most awesome time!
