How would LED look on a Softail?

In the technical section, the guys think these are ugly. I think they look good—better than the Kuryakyn.

Im reserving judgement until I actually see the part, how is the performance compared to the standard bulb,  I am always worried that if the LED head lamp fails then I am up a gum tree miles away from home and an available replacement, at least when the old school bulb takes a dive I can pick one up at any gas station

I started a similar thread.

I'm looking at some of the HID lights as well and would like to have someone who has seen both and what they thought.

A guy at Sturgis saw one on display. Said it was brighter and better. If the low beam burns out it appears the high is a separate bulb. LEDs are not known for blowing out as are incandescent. it will be interesting to see how the initial reports are.

I will always be wary of these new very expensive LED units!
I have replaced the tri-bar rear lamp 3times on my 07. The bike is still on the original incandescent headlamp bulb, in fact the only other bulb I have had to replace is an orange indicator lamp on my last trip which was temporarily replace with a normal clear glass bulb until I returned home from my trip. The HD orange indicator bulbs dont have the retaining pimples in the same layout as easily available car orange indicator bulbs, I had to order replacement orange bulbs from a moco dealer.

I remember when we went from chains to belts on softails and everyone said, "how am I gonna fix it if it snaps"..... I think the belt thing worked out ok for us....  :nixweiss:
