Of course we know that the Red ones are the fastest, but nobody seems to know why that is.  I have come up with a theory.  The red ones are brighter in color and tend to wake up the technician and sharpen his senses, which in turn makes him more alert when tuning the bike, and the best tuned bikes are the fastest...ergo, the red ones are the fastest!  Not quite the Cliff Claven beer theory, but it will do in a pinch.

Well Aba. I love your bike too. I am picking mine up tomorrow. Same color as yours. I think the first ride will be in a trailer home thanks to the lovely weather. Can't wait. I should have some time to cut the head pipe and remove the ugly cat tumor before riding season is in full swing. I will be calling Fullsac for some baffles as well.

Congrats on the new bike.  I found mine unspoken for in the showroom while just stopping by at the dealer on a very nice day in November.  I wouldn't leave the dealer without it.  I was afraid someone else would try to buy it, or even sit on it.  Actually, I made them move it off the floor immediately before getting the paperwork started.  About half an hour later, I was asked if another couple could look at the bike, as they were there to buy it.  I let them see it with me escorting them into the private delivery room they have at the dealer.  That's where they take a bike on it's way out for final inspection and going over the owner's manual with you, etc.  Anyway, we got the deal done just in time for me to ride it to my HOG meeting and after the meeting, when all the members were done drooling over my bike, a few of us went for a nice late night ride around Pittsburgh.  I don't think I could take having the bike delivered in a trailer.  They did that to me with a Yamaha once and I guess I was still excited when I saw the truck roll in, but it sure isn't anything like riding a new Harley away from the dealer for the first time.  In fact, that Yamaha dealer will not allow you to ride a new bike off their lot.  They deliver all bikes.  They told me that they worry about someone wrecking their new bike before it leaves the parking lot.  I never did understand that one.

Well, you should thoroughly enjoy the new ride, and there are lots of us that will show you ways to spend your money on it.  When I bought the SE, I thought, gee, this bike really doesn't need much of anything but pipes and a different air cleaner, tuning, and done deal.  Well, maybe just a few more things need changed...hehehehe.

You are so right about the feeling you get when riding off the lot!       :orange:    The red is beautiful.  I had seen the silver and blue, but this is the first red one.  I am riding an 08 Springer and am thankful each time I get a good day to ride.  Today was one of those days!   ;D

They tell us that we get about 50 days of sunshine per year in Pittsburgh.  I'm counting.  Yesterday was number one for the year.

lol,

I'm at the point if the roads are not icy, rain looks minimal, and I don't need to pick up anything at the store, I'm ridin' to work.

Unfortunately, it has been snowing last 2 days and possibly today, with low temps in the morning.

Ridin' is a new experience for me I've looked forward to some 40 years ago and afraid was always going to be one of those "one these days I'm going to..." things, and finally having a Harly now makes it better, a Springer even better, a CVO Springer totally better. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I'm glad to hear you took the plunge.  I see it in their eyes and hear it in their questions.  There are a lot of people out there that have thought about taking that plunge and just never do.  I guess a lot of people say, someday I'd like to buy a boat, or a motorhome, and lots of other things...but what we have here is a luxury item.  We are a fortunate group, not only for owning a bike, but the super luxury models at that.  How many people have you talked to already that have a Honda or a Yamaha, etc that have said to you, I'd like to get a Harley one of these days?  Then you talk to people that already own Harleys and they say, I'd like to get a Screamin' Eagle one of these days.  Face it, you've jumped in at the top, and the only thing you can look forward to now is owning 2 CVO's...or more.

Stay off the icy and snowy roads, and ride safely.  Welcome to a better life.

Okay...I have to take exception to this one.  Sunshine is not that overrated.  Yes, I'll ride in anything that doesn't involve ice and snow on the ground, but a nice, hot, sunny day rules!

Thanks, it is a great feeling finally getting to do something instead of just talking about it.

Funny I don't look at my bike as a luxury. Over the top, yes, but the word luxury means different things to me. Now that I own a Screaming Eagle, I call it "basic transportation" or "therapy".  :coolblue: :coolblue: :coolblue:

As far as roads, snow melting & roads drying but by the time I can ride again we are in for 85% showers for the next week. I'm with you regarding the sunshine, not so concerned about it but it is always welcomed.
