Mystery Plug
« on: November 06, 2019, 11:47:14 AM »

So I park my bike the other day, and as I walk away I look back and notice something hanging down.  see attached pic

Upon further inspection it is obvious that it is a plug of some sort, but where does it plug into?  After searching around I finally emailed a picture of it to my dealer for their suggestion as to what the heck it is and where does it go.

I should mention that this is the first time that I've noticed it and the bike ran perfectly just prior to parking it and discovering this plug handing down, which I mentioned to my dealer.

After a couple of days my dealer emails me back a couple pics of the same plug he found on another 2008 Ultra (non CVO).  It appears to be a "nothing" plug???  From his picture you can see the other end of where it is plugged into just has three white caps covering the vacant holes with no wires going on from there.

I have since plugged mine back into where it must have vibrated out of, but wondered if anyone has ever seen such a plug and would have any guesses of what it might be for or know what it might be intended to be used for in the future possibly???

I've noticed that plug too on my 2009 FLTRSE3. Wild ass guess is jiffy stand switch on some models.  :nixweiss: It's not exclusive to the Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide, or is it?

Nope.  The pics my dealer sent me were from a 2008 regular Ultra, and now I also know it was on the 2009's as well.

That connector is for the jiffy stand sensor, not used on USA models.  It should be zip tied to the frame.

That's for the kickstand safety switch.  Others have questioned that connector before here.

With just a Deutsch extension lead that plug could do extra things with the Mystery Button.  Sadly no one has asked about the mystery button for a long time.   :huepfenlol2:

Warp Speed 1?

That was way back when the new model year CVOs were eagerly anticipated, and only about half of the posts were about how awful the new paint jobs looked in the online pictures, but were so much better in person.  A different world than now.
