Recently purchased a full face helmet (Bell modular) mainly for cold weather riding. The face shield gets fairly wet inside from condensation obstructing vision. Is there something I can use to keep it from fogging and getting wet?

Not familiar with Bell. Is their an anti-fog shield? Is there a chin vent and is it open? If not, you can just crack open the face shield to the first notch. As a last resort, you can do what divers do......wipe the inside of your face shield with spit. Don't ask me but they swear by it.

As someone too stupid to quit playing hockey, I have discovered a couple of different solutions to having a visor/shield fog up. The first option was shampoo, wipe on and wipe off. The second and better option is Pledge furniture polish. Not only does it help with the fogging but it also fills the micro scratches. Works great. :jalapeno:

Some helments can be fitted with a "pin-lock" shield which acts like a double pane window with a second shield inside the main shield. Have not bought the insert yet but my fulface is fitted with attachment points for the insert. I usually just crack the shield open one click.

I have fought this problem for 40 years, race cars, motorcycles, googles etc. The only cure, that always works is the pin-lok inserts. I have had the shield be fogged so bad around the insert that water was dripping but the vision thru the insert was clear and dry.
Same principle applies to googles, the good snow/winter googles have twin lens that are sealed around the edge with a silicone bead which creates a air chamber between the two lens. This prevents either of the lens from fogging. Pin-lok same deal as the silicone is attached to the insert and it seals to the face shield.
Good product. Can also be removed at any time if you need to.

I mostly drive with my face shield up (99% of the time). For the times when I need it down, it is cracked open a couple of notches.

Since I look for simple solutions I always just lifted the shield a tad.

Need more air flow. Vent or crack up. Or take out the chin guard seal. The bell modular has a removable seal for when it warmer out. Might be all you need to do

Fog City brand insert, works great when raining or cold. Will NOT fog up, cheap & great product.

I always ride without a face shield unless very cold. I never wore a ff helmet (actually wore a novelty carbon fiber shorty) until a few years ago when a friend had a slow speed "oops" and it would have not been a big issue except has hand slipped and he did a face plant which knocked out all his front teeth. I did have issues getting used to it for a while but now it is second nature though I do not like wearing the face shield which I never got used to. If i try wearing the shield up I get buffeting over 60 mph

Does the Fog City insert stay in, year round?
Vents open still get the condensation.
