Just saw the current issue of American Rider in today's mail.  On the back cover of the bike magazine is a cologne ad.  It's the Tuttles looking all fufu trying to push some new Orange County Choppers Cologne.  Just how effete can a pair of high school dropout bike builders get?  I really wish they'd just have stuck with the machines and the process.  It's not that I begrudge them the Hummers and the Prowlers and the itsy bitsy scooters, but it's not that I give rat's behind about it either.

I'm guessing that in a couple of years they will be long gone and forgotten.  But, you've got to give it to them, they're making hay while the sun is shinning.

Couldn't agree more 2lane.  After seeing the bikes and the Teutlles recently at Biketoberfest, I confirmed my previous thoughts that the Discovery Channel show works only from the standpoint of the dysfunctional freak show oddity.  The fabrication on the "show bikes" is junk with the metalwork being far below the practice pieces of any high school metalworking class. In direct contrast to the real biker/builders who, as always, are humble, unpretentious and willing to help their fellow enthusiasts, these guys are pure inexperienced, wannabe bikers with an inflated attitude.  Probably nothing that couldn't be fixed  with a trip out behind the trailer!

I like the show and bikes. But don't go by my opinion as I bought a $30k stock Harley .

How discerning could I really be?

Seeing bikes shows on TV is huge . I can remember ABC or one of them showing the

hillclimbs when I was a kid and I missed them for years . John Q Public could care less

about bikes years ago. Now we may be getting a bit more socially acceptable. Can't be all that bad.

Good point Jerry,
The bikes have a certain appeal on the TV.
The pseudo reality show environment is a tremendous advertising coup for OCC.
Folks in my family have been riding for nearly 100 years.
The social acceptance is partially due to the government bailout that H-D received along with legislation to help them fix the prices of the H-D product and the foreign owned corporations competing for the dollar.

Let's hope that "overexposed" leads to ... gone... burnout...history...never to be seen or heard of again!

Did you know that there is a PS2 OCC game out this year as well.  I don't know who is handling thier marketing, but I'm willing to bet it ain't one of the Pauls.  Milk it for all it's worth boy's cause nobody is gonna remember you in a couple of years!!!!!!!!  Hopefully... [smiley=smoking.gif]
