Time and tide have carved from the cliffs and coves distinctive sandstone formations topped with trees…

At the base of these pots is a slippery substance…

The formations consist of dark sedimentary conglomerate and sandstone rock. The large volume of water flowing in to and out of the Bay of Fundy modifies the landscape surrounding it.

Although the tides vary from day to day, the high tide can be as high as 52 feet giving the Hopewell Rocks one of the highest average tides in the world.

I wish I could have stayed for a full cycle to see the tide change…

I would be taking the Bay of Fundy Drive and this road passes through quaint coastal villages along the way.  Nothing new there right?  Perhaps but this time I ran across a covered bridge!

I have enjoyed visiting these in the past so I had to make my mark.

Later in the day I would be stopping in Alma, New Brunswick and eating a quick outdoor meal at a shack.  Good Eats!  After a enjoyable lunch it was time to work off some of that meal with some moose raslin’!

My ride would take me through the Fundy National Park however I was beginning to experience the time crunch of the trip. On the return into the United States we did not experience any issues however we could have!  Had to leave the Canadian weed behind!   ;)
