Added a old N.W.T. plate. Covering up the mount for were the stock plate would be.

Interesting concept!!

I put a new 15" Freedom Shield on my scoot, but first I took a tap and die to those pesky bolts and stupid brass inserts in the fairing.  They work great now!

Best thing you do Mike.  I never worry about my bags falling off. I know this is the first recall from Harley but as I think back my 1995 Road King quarter turn pins used to flare out and not catch after a few times of taking the bags off. Back then I used to squeeze them back with vice grips and go on.  Tells me they have had issues forever. Bad design to have been in production so long.

Best thing about it Jim, took something like 9 bucks and 5 minutes to fix their problem. I don't know about everybody but I'll gladly put up with the minor hassle of removing the knob/bolt when I wash or work on the sickle compared to the possibility of a bag falling off going down the road. Every since I heard about the recall from OBB in Fayetteville I had visions of the bag falling off and landing in the path of whoever was behind me, most likely Susan, and causing additional mayhem and possibly a wreck.
Don't have to worry no more.

Put the Brukus bolt kit on my bags the day I brought it home. Bags only come of once a year in my case. (Fall when I wash and wax before the snow)

Took a little 220 mile jaunt through the hills of Soutern WV to visit the dealer I bought Orange Crush from to have the clutch recall done. While I was there I had the dealership replace the two remaining factory latch clips.

Mike Adkins has retired and sold the dealership to Eddie Kieffer who also owns several metric dealerships in the Logan area. The name is changing from Mike's to Moutain State Harley Davidson. Eddie took the time to introduce himself and we talked for quite a while. I noticed that they had two 2015 CVO Limiteds, one of which had a sign saying $5000 off and they are a MSRP dealer!! Needless to say Eddie is being very aggressive with pricing!!! They sold the silver/maroon one while I was there and have a gold/black left.

I mentioned the site to Eddie as well as the GTG's that we have. He asked me to bring you all by if we decide to do a WV GTG next year, which works well because I was thinking of moving the festivities farther South.

I also rode, for the first time, a new section of the King Coal Expressway that has been opened between Gilbert and Red Jacket. They used a surface mine to construct this 11 mile section along the top of a ridge. I nicknamed it the KingaCoala Skyway.

Nada, Dealership broke it while working on it and had to order parts to replace their mistake. Bummer, no riding this weekend or next week.  :(

Put the Fullsac screens and 1.75 baffles in my RGU mufflers.  That was a bit more effort than expected doing it with a dremel and the muffler packing was stuck to the inside of the muffler can.  Not too loud but a bit deeper.  Will be easier to try different baffles now.

I noticed the H-D hardware that came with my tour-pac detach kit was already rusted just a few weeks after installation. Pulled/replaced the fasteners with stainless steel cap head bolts. It was a nice idea but it doesn’t look too good when the torx heads show rust inside the chrome…

I have used testers silver paint on a Q tip to fill in the areas on chrome screws to stop the rust before.  Worked for me.

Thanks Chains, that's an excellent tip. I still have the hardware and can re-install.

That would piss me off, but "that's normal, they all do that".

Took a 400 mile trip to Eureka Springs and Fayetteville, AR over a two day weekend with our friends Streetglide1 (Bob and Janet).  Had excellent weather and a great time with new friends!

That is a great weekend trip, just not enough time to take in all the great roads around there.
