Well the carbon skunk is starting .... Giving the FLTRXSE a little attitude changing all the lower black areas to gold/black carbon weave. Just have to black candy them to give it some depth and dull the gold a hair

Took off and cleaned up the oil cooler adapter, hoses, and oil cooler today.  Have a small oil leak at the adapter.  Might be at the hose fittings; still TBD.

Swapped out my current mufflers for a set of Kuryakyn Mellow Crushers. Sound is deeper than the mufflers I removed, swapped out to get mufflers with tips. Considered removing my 2 inch Fullsac inserts from my current mufflers but seemed like a bunch of work plus I would have to have bought mufflers with tips anyway this way I got a new set with mega tips. Got in close to 50 miles today 60 degrees and sunny.

Installed red LEDs in place of the smoked turn signals. Tomorrow my controller should arrive that will equalize the lights to the system and add pulsation to the brake lights. Next project is to add turn signals to tour pack lights.

Installed some floor boards purchased from a forum member, moved the passenger pegs to the crash bar. One step closer, now all we need is a wash  job and warm weather.

Made a few minor additions during the snow break.  EZ Brake slotted pedal, Heated gear fixed plug mounted on air deflector under tank and lastly a set of HD Daymaker LED fog lamps mounted on lower guards w/panel switch.  Still need to adjust aim.  Think I want them just left/right of main headlight and just barely down about even with low beam.  Looks like we're supposed to be 60's here Saturday so may get to try some of this out, except the heated gear :).

In anticipation of warmer temps and getting Miss Debbie out on Blue II for a couple rides on Sat & Sun, I left the BMW BCR at home and took Blue II to work yesterday just to get the cobwebs off since she's been sitting since Dec '13 with just a weekly engine run.  It felt really good to be back on the RK vs. the sportbike, if only for the sheer joy of variety.

However, even though she's been on the Battery Tender I had to remind myself the bike still has the OEM battery installed at the factory way back in June 2012. With that in mind and knowing how modern batteries seem to give you very little warning before they crap-out, I'm now in the market for an OEM-spec 66010-97C battery at a non-OEM $170 price tag.  I thought about putting in a 'better' aftermarket battery but my awesome service advisor Kelly at HD of Atlanta suggested sticking with the OEM model, given I have an ESP.

Sound advise and quite frankly, I'm impressed that the stock 66010-97C battery on a barely ridden bike (remembering we bought Blue II in Nov with 2,500 miles to replace our totaled CVORK) lasted nearly four years.  The 66010-97C in Blue I was also going strong at 3.5 years w/18,000 miles.  So, not too worried about getting short-changed with the OEM battery @ $135.  The OEM battery in my '11 Wide Glide crapped-out almost 3-years to the day it was made.

It hit 40º here in Indiana today. Took a ride around the outskirts of town, stopped at "The Tap" for a couple brews and went home. Supposed to be 55º tomorrow. Gonna ride more to get the fuel stabilizer out of the tank and get ready for my upgrades/dyno tune on Sunday!
