Took a little 375 mile loop from Northwest Atlanta to the Nantahala River Gorge for lunch, then to Deals Gap to meet some other folks who joined us for a ride across the Cherohala to Tellico Plains with a short detour to check out the Bald River Falls. We were pleasantly surprised by a new menu and the quality of the food at Buckets & Brews Bistro in Tellico Plains; definitely worth checking out if you're in town and need something to eat.  Since it was dark when we headed back to Atlanta we opted to take 411 instead of 68 into Georgia: big mistake.  TDOT left a fine coat of crushed gravel along a mile-long section of road way and I'm guessing all of our bikes are now sporting a nice collection of dings and chipped windscreens and headlights: unbelievable.  We rolled into the driveway around 11:30pm.  A great day other than the TDOT roadwork.

Put it up on the lift and dropped the fluids.......it's raining...so...I'll put the filter and fluids in tonight.

Rode it yesterday for the first time in two months. Doc cleared me to ride after my neck surgery back in July  :2vrolijk_21:

Good deal!  Having been through that this year (not neck surgery but out of the saddle for 6 weeks), ain't it great to get back on the horse?  You really don't know how much you enjoy this sport until you can't or are restricted from riding.  Praise the Lord for your healing and glad your back riding again.... :2vrolijk_21:

Went to grab lunch in Utah 130 mile ride, cruising at 85 mph, into the ride about 40 miles bike started running on one cylinder. Thinking a rod issue is upon me. Bike in the shop motor will be torn down within 24 hours. That's what I did to my CVO today.

Today I saved $400 or so doing my own 10,000 mile service after hitting that mark with a run to the cherohala skyway this past Saturday. It was a great day for riding. It had been 17 years since I rode it last and I live here...go figure. Sure do enjoy working on the bike. Gave Beauregard a good, 2 hour wash and wax, too.

Good news on the 10K service, there was little to no metal on the magnets on any of the three drain plugs.  I was fairly pleased with that... ;D
