Title: '19 117 Upgrades
Post by: TucsonDon on June 15, 2020, 01:08:53 PM
I have a '19 CVO StreetGlide that I am thinking of doing so engine upgrades to. The Stage IV kit comes with 11:1 pistons, does anyone know what the stock compression ratio is? With only 4K should I hone the cylinders?

Absolutely,! Better yet...send them and pistons to one the top notch  guys on this forum,  T-Man- Steve @ Fullsac, Kirby to mention a few. Do it right , zero deck cylinders, have them bored or honed the right way so they are nice and straight. You just bought some great peace of mind!!

This is always a problem, my opinion.  When honing in torque plates it can take a thousandth or more to get everything straight and true. Now you have too much clearance. Your cylinders will not be straight and true regardless of miles, this is distortion not wear. The solution is a +.010 piston or line2line coating the pistons and using a .005 os ring set. It is possible the original rings will be fine, dont know until they are checked in the refinished cylinder.  If you shop for a simple solution there will be those I assure you. Somebody will say "just ball hone it". Lol

So HD Street Performance, I have a 19 RG CVO. Not looking to go crazy but one recommendation was to do the following:

Fullsac headers and cores(2.0),S&S cam plate and oil pump, Fueling 465cam, adjustable pushrods, S&S lifters, stiffer clutch springs, and a power vision tuner. Thoughts?

Save a lot of money and use the 2020 8 lobe Harley Oil pump.  Many top builders quit using the very Expensive S&S oil pump as it still had some sumping issues, and cost a fortune.  They are having better luck with the latest HD oil pump.

I am at 163 HP and 167 torque on my built M8.  I have just over 9K miles on the build.  I am running the HD oil pump, zero issues.  A good friend is running a similar build with similar numbers and is also using the HD oil pump.  We are both high milage riders.

^^^^^^^ :2vrolijk_21:
Consider a Cycle rama CR480 or TTS 100 or TTS 150 cam for a stock bolt-in torque deal.
