What I need to look for?

Hi everyone! Just joined and this is my first post. I need everyones help. I found a too good to be true deal on a SERK! Anything I need to be aware of so I don't get srewed?

Too Good....

The bike is in Canada, Has 280 miles, 100% stock, said to have a clean title, From what I can tell the VIN #, it comes back to a 2003 FLHRSEI2, never crashed or laid down, seen one pic and it is very clean. All this for the incredible low price of ....

I have heard and seen numerous stories lately about rip off artist apparently selling motorcycles for unbelievable prices. I cannot recall all the details at this time but I know that the bike was usually in another country. I do know that Ebay even put a halt too or removed some postings because people had gotten ripped off. I would strongly urge some serious background checking before even thinking about that bike.
As the old saying goes "If it looks to good to be true, it probably is". I will do more searching myself for the story and post it if I find it.

This has happened on eBay and at least one other site. If it is an auction and they want you to pre-register or offer free shipping, watch out! Both are true of the scams I have seen.

i dont know how far away the bike is but. if you aare considering it i would go to canada and check the bike out for myself. the price doesnt sound right to me, but i dont know the circumstances behind the sale. you always hear about the guy who bought a bike/car from a widow who didnt know any better for pennies on the dollar

The bike was in an add in the recycler. The bike was said to be purchased originally in Ohio. I need a bit more info from this guy but I have connections with some PIGS to run the numbers for me. He gave me the shiopping costs, but I told him I would fly in to see the bike and pay cash. Waiting for his reply.

Thanks for everyones input. If anyone can think of anything else, please let me know.

I concur........sounds to good to be true!!  For that price, I'd go to Canada personally to get it before spending one dollar.  Hope it works out though!  [smiley=nervous.gif]
