JCZ,
Well so far with the Sony digital DCR-TRV30 handycam that I have with the bag to be kept in the Tourpac, I ordered the Sony Adventure Cam 3 (NTSC) version with the standard lens package to start with. The 3.5 mm lens has the FOV (field of view) that looks right.
And then from Sony I ordered a few items, a remote commander that ill put on the handle bar Ram mount for the gps which should be easy to change commands with a lot of moving around (hands or eyes).
A 12v car charger to power the unit from the 12v triple outlet I've already mounted in the rear of the Tourpac, once the Adventure Cam shows up, I'll determine if another hook-up for the cam can be put in place to power that as well.
And a good DV cleaning cassette to keep the camera head in top shape.
I would imagine that once these pieces show up, I'll see that either I've got what is needed, or if other cables still need to be acquired.
I'll have to set the whole package into the Tourpac to keep it secure and somewhat locked down from bouncing or banging inside with cotton stuffed inside the bag.
When I started thinking about this set-up my idea was to be able to swap the whole unit to a different bike, so I'm going to try to set it that way if possible. At the very least to be able to quickly pull it down and store it, without 20 mins of undoing this or that just to take a break.
I also want to see about different locations to put the system if the Tourpac is off. I'm not set up with a luggage rack, so a net might be used to strap it to my pillion seat, if that's not on I'll see what can be done with the saddle bags.
I can get ahead of myself real easy, so I'll hold off until those pieces show up.
