valve stem nut loose
« on: April 26, 2008, 03:24:19 PM »

The day I took delivery of my flhtcuse3
(#0194/1800) I went home to pick up my wife for our first ride on the new bike. After a short ride (Nov. in mich.) we got off the expressway and got stopped at a red light. Just before stopping I noticed the front end felt very heavy and sloppy. When the light turned green I started to go and had no controll of the bike. Thank God traffic was light, I was able to get into a parking lot to discover the nut that holds the valve stem onto the rim had backed off and the stem was dangeling loose on the rim with only a couple threads holding in place. Needless to say the heavy sloppy front end was a completly flat tire. I can only imagine what would have happened if the tire went flat at 60 mph. Has anybody else had this happen to them?
