Arizona Bike Week Questions
« on: November 22, 2005, 01:21:27 PM »

Been thinking that I would avoid the Daytona crowd this coming spring and have been considering Arizona Bike Week.  Anyone have any info or experience?  What city is the main gathering in?

We were there last year, other than the usual vendors, it was kind of a letdown. We were in the Handle Bar saloon one night, I think there might have been 50 people there (15 of them were our group), all in a place the size of a football field. I see they have changed venues for next year, that may help things. Other than the AWESOME riding in AZ, I wouldn't go back.

Thanks for the reply.  That was kind of why I was looking at ABW.  Let the thundering hoards fight for the scraps in Daytona while I'm in AZ being served.  The main reason for the trip is the riding anyway, so that fits.

Any suggestions on places to stay?

TB,   If in the southeast of AZ,  don't miss highway 191 (previously hwy 666..the devil's hwy) from Clifton to Eagar.  Miles of twisties!   Also checkout the Morenci Mine just north of Clifton....massive open pit mine!  Have a great trip!

Az bike week is going back to Westworld in Scottsdale after a great deal of back room politicing.  Having it in Scottsdale, makes it closer to the fabulous riding we have here in Az.    If any of you have any questions regarding the venue or places to stay or ride feel free to send me a pm.
