2 Bike Trailer
« on: January 05, 2006, 08:06:09 AM »

I need to buy a trailer that will hold 2 bikes, and Tow easy behind an F150, for long trips.
I plan on using it for events over 500 miles away. Opinions on the best quality for the $$$
please. I only want to buy one, garage keep it, and will it to my kids....

thanks

I have a Haulmark Edge low hauler. Tows well, well built, & fits into underground garages & parking. When staying at a hotel I spin it around, put it in a parking space, lock the wheel& use it as a secure garage. $4200 to about $5000 new...

I have the Haulmark Cadet and am really happy with it. Did the floor (3) rails and wall (4) rails, which I would recomend. Use it to haul dirt bikes and Harley's, not to mention an occational piece of funiture for my wife. Have a couple of friends that when they are not using theirs, they remove the wheels and store their bikes in them in their carports,(in Memphis where anything at anytime is prone to disapear).

I have a 2000 Luxe Ryder Motorcycle Hauler that I use as a storage unit and to deliver bikes I sell or buy to the shipping depot (if you see my SERK on a trailer call 911)  It holds two touring bikes,is painted to match the Ford H-D trucks for the model year,  has air bag suspension (built in compressor) , electric brakes, is completly enclosed with a aerodymamic shape and a built in retractable foot. They cost $10,000 new, but you might find a used one around for a decent price. I got a heck of a deal on the one I have. Absolutely great trailer. Pulls and rides like a dream.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a couple questions.   For 2 bikes do you get a 7' wide trailer?  Do you want 1 or 2 axles?   Any other info would be appreciated.  I would want to carry a FB and SEEG.

Look into "Logan Coach" they are out of Utah. The are well known for the horse trailer's they build. The owner being a Harley fanatic wasn't satisfied with the quality and construction he saw in the motorcycle market so he designed and builds
a line just for us. Check out the link below. I've owned a 2 bike version for 5 years and never had a problem or concern. Just routine maintenence, although I did recently upgrade to L.E.D. lighting..........

Best value on the market!

Also, if anyone prefer's the "Featherlite" trailer's just PM brother Hubbard as I believe he is a Licensed Distributor of their line.

Featherlite is also an excellent choice! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Maybe he'd even offer you the secret "Senior FLHRSEI.ORG" member discount????? :-?

Extra doors provide extra ventilation while loading and unoading on warm days.

Perhaps on those awful warm days, one should also consider an air conditioner in ones trailer. ;D

Great idea if offered by the manufacturer!  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

A heating/cooling unit would allow for additional use as a camper if needed. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

From experience I can tell you "properly" strapping down 2-4 bikes in an enclosed trailer without ventilation will cause you to work up quite a sweat in any season........

Friends kid me that I could roll my trailer and the bikes would never move.....(which is my intention) my driving habits are not the best........ [smiley=drink.gif] ::) [smiley=oops.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

We bought a 24' Toy hauler.
Full bath, kitchen, air and all the ammenities + checkered flag awning.
Bad part is 6-8 mpg pulling with Tahoe. Bought an '06 Dodge Cummins to pull with. Two Dressers fit into it nicely. But not something you want to pull around everyday.

Right now it's tight in storage. The only pictures I have of it is from Bristol TN. last August. Once I dig them up I'll post.
