Title: Muffler Clause -- Not from the North Pole ?
Post by: Twolanerider on July 05, 2019, 03:41:22 PM
Thank you to someone!   UPS dropped off a box about an hour ago with brand new take off slip ons from a 2016 SE Street Glide.  End caps, shields and all.  Return address on the box just said Muffler Clause and c/o North Pole  :huepfenlol2: .

Note inside mentioned seeing I was going to duals on the Road King and had scored a head pipe.  Went on to say these would look good there.  I agree  :2vrolijk_21: .

I did not run the tracking number to see where the parcel actually started.  Will take it on faith they came from Muffler Clause at the North Pole.  I didn't know he was a member here  ;D .

I've got a set of 2.0 Fullsac baffles that would make them sound as sweet as they look.  :P

Have been considering baffles now.  Though I'd probably go with his 1.75".    Still can't hurt to ask though; how much?  :drink:

That’s great Don for someone to do something so very nice. Perhaps you did them a favor and they are paying it forward.

Regarding the Fullsac baffles. I had the 1.75 on my 2007 and really liked the way they sounded and performed.  I know many like the 2.00 but they are a big too loud for my taste.

When I bought my '15 I decided that it was going to stay the way it came. Had decent performance, road nice, just was OK. That was in Sept of '14. For Christmas wife bought me a set of Fulsac 1.75 baffles with screens, same as was in our previous bike. She said if I wanted a Gold Wing to buy one, but if we were going to ride a HD it had to sound like a HD. The 1.75 are great, maybe best unexpected present ever.

Nice.  You didn't even have to leave out milk & cookies.  Those muffler bearings in the pic are pristine, look like new!

I know.  No milk and cookies.  Didn't even have to show my boobs.  It's awesome.  Still have to make the road trip to pick up S&S duals that will go with them.  Those are going to cost me beer(s).  Life is tough some days....

Baffles.  Before these slip-ons ever see the bike will likely do the 1.75" baffles.  I've heard all his baffles sizes run on larger displacement engines than the 98" that these will be behind.  That engine difference (displacement and compression) will moderate even the 2" down just a bit.  I don't chase noise though.  Good sound, yes.  Noise for its own sake, no.  The slightly quieter 1.75" parts will be fine for my tastes.

Today's discount price is $65.00 plus the ride.  I just need to get them out of the garage.

Damn that's tempting.  Price is great (thanks).  I know my preference is the slightly smaller baffle though.  Give me a bit to think about it.
