2015 fltruse tuning question
« on: June 27, 2019, 06:04:02 PM »

just bought  2015 fltruse. all stock, just  installed my Magnaflow 4.5 hitman slip ons from my other bike. My question is do I have to get the bike tuned? Bike runs great. Ive called 4 different dealers all with different answers. Just dot want the pipes to change color.

with just a muffler change, no.... tune would not be needed. the pipes have chrome heat shields/covers on them so not to worry about your exhaust bluing. any other exhaust changes will require tuning …. PS a PROFESSIONAL tune will help any bike run better with or without any modifications as we all know HD is limited to EPA standards and a shallow talent pool  :2vrolijk_21:

I my opinion, yes you do need to get it tuned. The bike already has a high flow air cleaner so adding the exhaust without the tune will most likely result in an even leaner condition than it already is from the factory.

The bike has a hi flow air box....but it came that way and is built into the tune. Run it!

HD-Dude is one of the most respected people on this forum if you look at the history. If you are serious then you would take his advise as gospel. Also he runs a respected HD repair shop.
