2006 CVO 103" Breather Question
« on: June 25, 2011, 08:06:27 PM »

I have the 103 CVO and have the screaming eagle heavy breather off my 2001 FXDWG, which was a 88 twin cam. Can I run that on my '06 103? What I have now is a cheesy K&N filter under that stock S/E cover. It still has those factory rubber breather tubes that point right into the intake throat. I think that the chrome crossover tube will be a nicer mod, and it has the nicer, bigger factory S/E element. Less oil blow?

Why is it that I never seem to succeed the first time, unless I screwed up?

I,myself, have never ridden with one of those filters. They look very uncomfortable to me and would thing my leg would get in the way of it.   The blow by question was a very good question to ask.  I got rid of my mess by running a pair of hoses down. Makes it a whole lot cleaner around my right saddle bad.

The kit will fit.  If you run lowers just buy the shorter element from the newer kit.  to 100% insure fitment, have the dealer look up the i-sheets from both kits.  I believe the intake tubes are the same P/N.  That will tell you that you can simply order the shorter filter.  The dealers have the i-sheets on H-D net.
