« on: June 19, 2017, 10:59:00 AM »

Hello everyone, Just wondering, I have a 2006 CVO Ultra. Can I run a 150 rear tire ?   Everything on bike is stock. Thanks

Hi Huskers, welcome. I don't see why not. The stock tire on my 1995 FLSTN was a 130 and I put a 150 on it. It was very close to belt but no problems, and it looked real beefy, and handled better. Wondering what size you have now? CAHDBIKER

The 2006 runs a MU rear tire which is approximately the same as a 140 metric size tire.  Going up one size to a 150 should be no problem at all.  To make certain, I'd suggest getting the overall width spec for the tire you're considering and comparing that to the overall width of the stock tire.  Check the clearance from the stock tire to the closest part (the belt and belt guard usually), then subtract half of the difference in overall width of the two tires from the clearance you measured.  That will tell you how much clearance you would have with the new larger tire.

On my '06 CVO Ultra I have run 150s in Dunlop, and Michelin. No clearance issues.
