Most of that was tongue in cheek, but they really do play too many games, in my opinion. I have been to a few of the Barons games here, and it is enjoyable in the park...we've got a pretty nice stadium for a minor team...then of course we have the historical Rickwood Field.
I used to enjoy listening to the games on my little transitor radio back in the late 50's, but just simply lost interest when the season became so excrutiatingly long, plus the whole pro thing...baseball, basketball, and football...has just gotten out of hand with the personalities/pay/performance/showboating things.
I was an Oakland Raiders fan for years because of Stabler and the whole crew, and liked the Dophins as well, but rarely bother to watch any more. It's just lost something, in my opinion.
Most all the teams in the SEC football teams are so strong now, it is always an interesting game, regardless of who's playing. But if I've got a choice between riding or watching, I'll take the ride....
