Title: HDI model
Post by: Kevinski on October 03, 2009, 10:25:19 AM
So Tequila Sunrise on order with a January delivery date and I have had it confirmed that the HDI FLHXSE has a big pigs nose of a rear light stuck on the fender  :soapbox:

Now I could go and order a domestic rear fender, rear LED lamps and wiring harness, but I then thought, does the domestic LED turn signals flash Red or Amber. I have a bad feeling that they flash Red.

Could someone confirm which it is.

Thanks Kev

i still cant understand while HDI models still need this enormous rear lamp after all the HD nightster has been accepted in europe with no seperate rear light, as u know the rear indicators on the sportster incorporate the brake light led`s, maybe its cus the US version bagger indicator lights cant be seen from the side

I see some of the roadglide boys are using kuryakyn stubby LED lamp 5409

I know that the old bill would pull me for having red turn signals if I done the domestic conversion

Has anyone got a HDI FLHXSE yet?

No no no, I checked the tank and the front fender are restricted but;

69383-09 LH LED, 69407-09 RH LED, 70338-09 Harness and 5969-10DEM rear fender are not.

Thats the Tequila Sunrise fender

Makes no difference. I've ordered lots of restricted parts that are non-HDI with no problem.  They'll happily supply the parts to HDI bikes.

The 2010 standard Streetglide HDI does not have this ugly taillight , the rear and brake light is included in the bullet-LED-turn-signals , i also do not understand why they don`t transforme it at the CVOs http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/2010_Motorcycles/2010_motorcycles.jsp?locale=de_DE#/model/flhx/gallery (http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/2010_Motorcycles/2010_motorcycles.jsp?locale=de_DE#/model/flhx/gallery)

I did it my way : (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=41381.0;attach=130220;image)

I see that the 2010 road glide has the tail dragger LED like the 08 Street glide, but have you seen a HDI in the flesh?

In all the UK spec sheets it states that the 2010 CVO street glide has 'led brake/turn rear signals mounted in the rear fascia' and this is a lie.

that doesnt make any sense to me that the standard flhx has no big ugly euro/standard brakelight, the standard indicators now appear to have red lenses and are possibly combo indicator/rear light/brake light LED like the nightster,
while the cvo in europe will, although there are no actual pictures as yet will have the big ugly euro/standard brakelight

my feeling is the motorcycle info on the MOCO web site is not acurate for every country.

We will have to wait until somebody actually see`s a HDI in the metal!

So although europe may have some stupid regulations HD have no excuse in ignoring styling, as the american market is down they are making good money from us.

Actually Kevin  you can laugh at the rest of europe cus England is still cheaper to buy than many other countries

CVO Streetglide  US $30.999   €21274

               uk         £23040    €25220
               swiss chf 44000    €29170
               germany              €31750
               italy                    €32700

I had forgotten how bad those pipe look, oh the shame :-)

Yet again on the HD site the regular Street Glide just has one muffler

Very interesting on the lighting though  :2vrolijk_21:

That was clear for me that the Streetglide won`t be available here with a 2in1 because we have noise-reduction here in germany and they need the second (left-small-diameter)pipe to reduce the noise between 50-80 km/h ( the right side pipe gets closed by the exhaust-control) and all emission is running through the left pipe . This bullsh..... was surely born in a ill brain , i guess .  :-[

Highjagger, you are dead right on the bullsh.., if they  had to restrict the pipe they could have done it at the other end of the muffler. Whats wrong with styling on our bikes, it could have been worse I guess VRODS could have has a 2 foot wide Ford radiator screwed to the front :-)

My dealer said that there may be a 10% price rise in the UK as the pound is still doing badly against just about everything, he think I should be OK as having already placed an order

Hard to tell.  Are the LEDs on the side amber or red?

i agree , they look amber , but the canadian has the "good" CVO mufflers and not the poor ones that we have here in germany .
