Should there not be power

Could someone please explain to me why I have Voltage from the two wire plug on the out going side of the regular rectifier with the ignition switch in the off position.

Should it not show zero reading with the switch off?

If I'm not mistaken one is directly to bat via maxi fuse.

The other is suppose to be switched via ignition switch.

Would I have that right or am I missing something?

One is power the other is ground.

Power is always present on those terminals.

Thanks Don,   Problem I have the other day I was out (about 40miles from home) I fired up the bike to come home and had no charging (charge light on) , I managed to get home, only just.

It wasn't that long ago I had charging faults on and off so I put on a new regular rectifier. Things have been fine till the other day.

I didn't realise the two wire on the outside of the regular rectifier are constantly hot 24/7 .

I found corrosion on the ignition switch relay connections,(took ages to find it).this maybe the cause? Cleaned up connections and ACF50 the plug.
Tomorrow I'll run it and see what happens

The stator might have gone bad.  Bad stator can ruin the rectifier/voltage regulator.

I've checked the stator had about 25/27Volt at idle and around 64 or so volts at 3000 rpm I'm thinking it's ok.
This regulator  the diodes  on the negative side failed.
