Title: 2010 Clutch Spring replacement
Post by: GKroadking on February 15, 2020, 11:44:58 AM
a friend of mine has a CVO 2010 Street Glide (60k miles)) with new friction plates (Harley). The clutch sometimes slips in the last gear. We now want to renew the clutch spring 37807-03. Is it possible to replace the clutch spring through the derby cover hole or does the primary cover needs to come off?

Thanks for assistance  8)

Yes, you can change the Clutch spring through the primnary clutch cover. No need to take off the outer primary cover.

..Thanks. Is it difficult, because I think the hole from cover is smaller as the clutch spring?

on the 2010, i don't think you're going to be able to do it without taking off the primary.  but, it isn't a difficult job.  a little messy perhaps, but not very hard.  i didn't even have to replace the gasket, just reused the same one.

As far as I can remember, the hole behand the Clutch cover is the same size as my 2007,  you just have to be a little careful not to drop anything inside (I put some rolled up rags in opening around the Clutch hub), to be certain go on the AIM website, they make various items for Harley clutches and also have the fitting instructions on the site, I have a AIM variable pressure plate on mine, and I changed it easily through the Derby cover opening. Watch some you-tube videos on the subject Plenty of AIM videos to choose from.

you should consider going with SE version of the spring.  I has a little more pressure to it.
