modulating brake lite
« on: December 29, 2007, 01:27:48 PM »

This past summer I was behind a Gold wing with a modulating brake lite and it seemed to attract a lot of attention . I know that Back Off makes a system for this but I wonder if anyone has used just the single bulb? I would like to put one on my 08 SERK.Any feedback helpful.

I went w/ the Kuryakin (sp) panacea and like it a lot. Some have complained of visibility in bright condition though.

Used the Kuryakyn with stock HD tailight/turn signals.  Worked fine, but crapped out after a couple of months.  Went back to the HD run/stop/turn signal harness (non-flashing).

I've used both the Panacea and Backoff.  Panacea worked well at night but those following me complained they couldn't see my turn signal in the day light.  I have switched to the Backoff product and feel more visible day or night.
Hope that helps

I have been running Cycle Visions The Flasher and have had nothing but good things said about it.  I got mine here

I made my own out of Whelen cop lights...they're bright in the day and the night.  They're built (recessed) into the filler strips, very professional looking, but nobody on the forum liked em' so your on your own!

Used the Kuryakyn Panacea system since '00 on three different bikes.  Really like it.  It is not as bright in daytime as the H-D but it does flash and I have the turn signals also (as well as Radinz [sp] led strip on tour pak) so shows up fine according to buds who have ridden behind.  Also put the Panacea bullet turn signals up front last month.  Really like their entire system a lot.

I put a Back Off on my 08 SERK in December.  The device is small enough to fix in the tombstone chassis at the top. The brake with is the red on and the blue is running light. It is easy to get to so if you need pictures ask me here of jcarl@swbell.net. I thought that I would need to mount the module under the set, but not the case.
