Half Helmet Intercom Sugestions
« on: March 08, 2008, 01:53:55 PM »

Wifey and I have half helmets, we are interested in installing some type of intercom system, but the one that would plug into the Ultra only would work with full or open face ones.

Does any one have any sugestions?

I looked at BlueAnt Interphone Handsfree, but same issues.

I have an '06 ultra and use the units that come with the bike on half helmets with no problems.  Harley has a part to fit the half helmet to hold the earpieces.  Check out this link http://www.harley-davidson.com/mcm/mcm_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448770315&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302285959&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302285959&bmUID=1174494942986&bmLocale=en_US

Thanks for the link.

It says "Fits KBC® helmets only"... is your KBC?

Aslo, how do you get the sparkers to your ears? Are the pouches for both sides? How's the sound quality?

Thanks in advance!

This looks like what I want...

Will The H40 units plug into my intercom on a 2006 Ultra?

Can I hear the radio through them, as well as speak to the passenger and CB?

What is the sound quality like?

Thanks

I only use mine for CB ( website says: http://www.imc-motorcom.ca/content/products.php?language=en )
I have an 06 SEUC, originally headset needed adapter, may want to check if this problem got fixed. As far as sound quality, some what noisey with open design , but with Cb can hear other riders fine.

I went on the website and they are asking for $250 for a set... has anyone used these before?

The H40s are about $80 each, and the company says they will work on everything.

I don't mind paying more if it really is worth it.

J&M makes quality stuff.  My wife's full face has J&M in it and there is no comparisson between it and the OEM Harley headset.  The J&M wins hands down.  If I were to put a headset on my half-shell, I'd personally go with the J&M.   (Disclaimer:  I am not associated with J&M in any way, shape, or form.  Just a very pleased customer. ;) )

I really didn't have an option, I had to go with the HS-ICD284-HHU-HO which are the ones for the shorty style helmets

We used the J&M headsets today… they are a little “tinny” to listen to music with compared to the fairing and box speakers.

There is great sound between rider and passenger… got some feedback from the wind at highway speed, but I’m sure I just have to make a few adjustments to solve the problem.

Thanks for all the input!
